Wickhams U17s side were the latest team to visit Acton Road, after 3 wins and a defeat from there 1st 4 league games and a win vs. Rickinghall Gunners in the cup left them 2nd in the league and it looked to be a very entertaining game between the 2 sides.
Bramford wanted to approach the game differently against Wickham, play from the back get the ball on the floor and try and get it out wide as much as possible.
Both sides started brightly, and the game looked set for a really good game, Bramford started as they wanted by playing from the back as much as possible and getting the ball on the deck. Wickham's style of play was to try and knock over the top of the deep Bramford defence, but everytime that happened Joel was on guard to act as a sweeper keeper. Bramford dug in deep to control early pressure from Wickham, On 7 minutes Josh Lea's corner was met by James Race to head back across the goal into the top of the net to make it 1-0 to Bramford.
Bramford were now well on top, keeping the ball really well and some good build up play from the Bramford midfield saw George get the ball on the edge of the box and shoot left footed, the keeper seemed to have everything under control until in flicked up off the Wickham Goalkeeper and into the net. 2-0.
The game was all the home team, bramford were keeping the ball really well and get lots of chances and openings to score. Joel, Alex, Tom, Reece and Grant all played there part to try and build from the back, and seemed to work quite nicely for Bramford, obviously it wasnt going to be perfect, ut that will come with games, Will and James made efforts to come deep and get the ball off the back 4 and hopefully by Christmas Bramford will ahve the system mastered.

With just under 10 minutes left of the 2nd half James Knuckey got himself in a position in the box which he flicked over the defence and for George, with his back to goal George turned with the ball still in the air, and vollied past the Wickham keeper. Malc then said to George who had scored proably goal of the game and maybe an early submission to goal of the season that he rated it a 5 out of 10..... 4-0.
At half time the management staff made a couple of changes, with Reece and James coming off for Gus and Iddy.
It took just a couple of minutes for Bramford to kill the game and wrap up all 3pts in the 2nd half after Josh Lea determination to score was scrambled in before colliding with the post after the keeper had saved his power bolt of a shot. 5-0.
The back 4 were dealing with Wickham pressure really well, but on 53 minutes the back 4 backerd off a Wickham player who let fly with a shot that Joel looked comfortable to save down low to his right before boucning half a yard in front and boucing up into the roof of the net at an almost right angle. 5-1.
10 minutes later Iddy sent Josh Lea away down field, and the goalkeeper almost scared of Josh waited for Josh to make the first move in the 1 on 1 and take round him and slot it home for Josh's 2nd and Bramfords 6th. 6-1.
With just over 15 minutes left Wickham won a corner and Alex then committed another foul in the penalty area b climbing on the Wickham CF back to win a header, which the ref had spotted and pointed to the spot again. Joel again had a little chat to the penalty taker and this time the forward no mistake by tucking it away. 6-2.
Bramford were finding lots of space on Acton Roads tight pitch and James played a superb disagonal cross pitch ping which bounced once and found Logan and he made no mistake by vollying in from 25 yards over the Wickhams keeper. 7-2.
4 minutes later a foul on James Knuckey set up Tom Stone for a free kick. The ball was proably set up for a left footer but Tom had it sorted with his right foot, his shot, across the face of the goal saw it fall awkwardly infront of the goalkeeper and past him into the side of the net. 8-2.
