  Team News

Borussia Forsyth welcomed back front man Lee Brennan who was looking a little tanned and slim, when offered a slice of pre match cake Brennan refused signaling maybe the rumours of a trip to chile for a gastric band operation was successful, but we may never know.

Forsyth also welcomed back Scarlet pimpernel Jord Purvis who was seen with a cardboard sign on the A171 saying bring me back im ready, he was greated to a warm applause by the 26 strong crowd, but boss Brown was less than pleased slapping a no joint before game ban on him.

Gareth " razor" Ludlam was away on gardening leave and the only other absentee was the Mikey Jeffrey with rumours that he has lost two toes after a challenge in last weeks game, Club Physio and Doctor Gopey has issued a statement saying " we have to give these things time, time is a great healer." Borussia Forsyth gathered early at Brucie headquarters on Dundas Gardens sumwhat fittingly handing out St George's Day costumes, before heading out in a convoy of the shaft - mobile and cree - mobile.

Reeves had brought a 18 century stop watch which had been dug up from popular tv show time team for the subs to time the fixture bringing rumours of his dad possibly having an archeological dig in his shed.

On a marvelous Spring evening both teams started with nervey exchanges as neither really had an effort in the first 5 minutes. Subject to an early discussion is to wether NFC were and affiliated club to food giant KFC were soon washed away as plain to see to every man and his dog this team were no push overs.Although this wasnt bad from both team as both showed a class of fitness testing each other with attacks that you would only see on a basketball court.

J

Forsyth searched for an opener with D Jeffery and J Purvis both having long range attempts but failing to test the keeper. NFC also had chances but were deflected wide for corners by Snedden. Josh Crabtree was again having a stormer, Borussia fan and leading pundit Chris Kamara was commentating on the sideline for Sky Sports quoting "oh my word Jeff this lad reminds me of a yound Tony Adams he's Tall, he's up to every ball and my word hes not scared of a rampaging run or two."

From a NFC corner Forsyth could of taken the lead when the ball found Shaw who looked to spray the ball Xabi Alonso style to Purvis who inturn nocked to Brennan who again layed off to Purvis but the Keeper palmed the ball wide. This was better and seemed to lift Brucies men as the ball started to be moved around the lush green turf like Brown from girl to girl in the fishermans.

Unfortunately for Borussia the half came to a climax as Russ Ingham tutted on his whistle for the interval with both teams going in deservably level.

The second half kicked off with a rejuvenated Forsyth, Dean Jeffrey started to throw his weight around like Vanessa Feltz in the hokey cokey muscling his way to every ball no matter what was in his way then finding his man.

Brennan, Shaw and Purvis started having attacking adventures like Forsyth fan favourite Bear Grylls in Born Survivor all going close to opening the deadlock. Finally early into the half the break through came as Brown won a throw which was quickly taken by Snedden to Jeffrey who nocked the ball to Brennan, Brennan ran at the defence as Purvis dropped in behind, Brennan then backhealed the ball into Purvis's run who smashed the ball with more venom than a Hydrophis Belcheri Sea Snake into the bottom corner.

Reeves found it hard to hide his pencil like erection as he cartwheeled along his box. The celebrating was nearly short lived as NFC almost immediately attacked the Forsyth defence and after a quick passing move the impressive winger found himself one on one with the cat. The cat looked into the wingers eyes like a tiger would at a grazing sambar deer. The winger made his move smashing the ball towards the bottom corner, Reeves reacted with a claw to the bottom corner, the fight wasnt over as the ball span in the air destined to drop underneath the bar, Reeves leapt up to push the ball over the bar like a chip in flamingo land, onlookers quoting of chimp like noises been heard.

With this Forsyth brought Brennan and Shaw back on for Snedden and Jeffrey for the power play. This immediately benefited the away team as a punt upfield from Brown was kept in by Brennan who flicked the ball to Purvis who controlled and lobbed the ball over the defence for Brennan to trap and smash the ball into the bottom corner.

NFC to there credit didnt give up and tried like a fat kid walking up the 199 steps to find the goal but Brown and Snedden oozed class and composure at the back breaking up the play.

With 3 minutes left on Reeves's 18 century stopwatch NFC got a goal back after a brief lapse of concentration from the away side left the striker with a golden oppertunity to set up a tense final 3 minutes, he cooley slotted the ball past the helpless Reeves.

Puvis could of then put the game out of reach with a smashing effort which just went over the top right leaving him more distraught than when he found out earlier he was serving a ban on smoking a joint before the game.

With the seconds ticking down Forsyth were sweating like Fritzel on MTV cribs as victory was insight, and finally to there relief Russ Ingham called the end to the game with a final two puffs on the whistle.

Overall everyone will agree that the NFC team were arguably the biggest test so far this season and can see the team doing well, but a army like performance keeps Forsyth unbeaten and 2nd in the chamionship ladder.
