BUCCANEERS ALL AT SEA!

Full of confidence after last weeks victory the boys knew that a similar performance today would give them a chance of all three points.
During the early exchanges the Buffalos were a little slow in starting and saw Sandhurst have a slight upperhand. Both sides were unlucky not to score as Sandhurst and a Buffalos shot from Riley found the post.

After 10 minutes the Buffalos got into their stride and started to play some exciting football with a lot of neat passing moves.
The game was now being totally played in the Sandhurst half and it was only a matter of time before the chance to take the lead would come.
A good team move found Rhys and his bullet like shot was excellently saved by the Sandhurst keeper. From the resulting corner Rhys put the ball into an area that was virtually impossible to defend and it came of a Sandhurst defender via a touch from Lewis and into the back of the net to give the Buffalos the lead. At the end of the half Rhys also saw a free kick rebound off the Sandhurst post.

The Buffalos midfield of Dan, Riley and Jake worked very had and won most of the ball and took total control of the game and chances were being created to extend the Buffalos lead. The defence of Josh, Josh, Eliis and Louis in goal looked comfortable and dealt well with any threat to the Binfield goal. Binfield extended their lead when Ellis made an interception at the back and put a perfect pass through to Rhys who powered past the Sandhurst defenders and put the ball into the corner of the goal. The boys deservedly finished the half 2 - 0 up.

The boys were told at half time to keep up the good work which they did. The Buffalos were still dominating and were unlucky not to extend their lead when a series of good moves from defence to the midfield and onto the forwards resulted in a number of opportunities somehow being kept out by the Sandhurst keeper.  Another excellent interchange of passes and a pinpoint cross from Dan found Lewis who clinically sidefooted the ball past the  Sandhurst keeper and into the bottom corner of the goal put the Buffalos 3-0 up.

Sandhurst responded and during a good 5 minute spell had a couple of long range shots that flew safely over the bar and their only real chance was well saved by Louis. Any other threat they posed was well dealt with by the defence. The Buffalos reacted to this and upped their work rate and retook control of the game. The chances were coming again and Jake was unlucky to see his shot fly off the outside of the post. Now in total control of the game the boys continued to threaten the Sandhurst goal and from a few goalmouth scrambles failed to put the ball in the back of the net to extend their lead. Towards the end of the game the Buffalos were awarded a dubious free kick just outside the area but there was no doubt in the the outcome of the free kick as Riley smashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the goal. At 4-0 the game was now won and it was just a matter of keeping concentration until the final whistle to avoid conceding a goal. The boys saw the game out to complete a well earned victory.

In a 4-0 victory it is easy to give all the credit to the midfield and the forwards but the defence and goalkeeper contributed just as much to give us a rare clean sheet. All of the boys performed very well today and came away with a deserved victory but also we must give credit to Sandhurst who kept working and battling for the ball but found themselves up against a team that is playing well and full of confidence. A excellent display by their keeper kept the score from being more.

The boys are looking forward to next week when they are hoping to play the re-arranged fixture against Camberley Town Royals.
