After outplaying Hitchin in the away tie earlier this season (only to somehow lose 1-0), the All Stars came away with a deserved 4-2 today. It wasn't easy though as Hitchin played class football in the first half and the All Stars had to dig in to stay in the game. The second half was different however - here are the highlights: 3 mins - !!GOAL!! After some early pressure from the AS, Hitchin break down their right with som nice interplay with the ball reaching their number 9 on the left who slots the ball past an advancing Bradley. 5 mins - Hitchin attack down their right and are through but Louis tackles well for a corner on their left 7 mins - George with the ball on the right hand side crosses and Marley cant get their despite a full outstretched dive towards the ball 10 mins - Lots of play in the midfield area today with few chances but Hitchin collect the ball and attack down the middle; nice passing but then its overrun and the ball goes harmlessly wide for a goal kick. 11 mins - Attack down the left for Hitchin defended by Louis for a corner. Corner taken and defended off the line by Louis and the rebound hits the Hitchin attacker and goes wide 13 mins - !!GOAL!! Its the equaliser for the AS. With the ball on the right, Goerge attacks and goes round 2 defenders and then lifts the ball over the keeper for a quality goal 15 mins - Good defending by John who passes to Callum who wins a throw on the right. Throw in taken but Shane cant quite get to the through ball. 16 mins - !!SAVE!! Hitchin attack with numbers and shoot, saved by Bradley, loose ball defended by Louis hits the Hitchin attacker and then Marley defends away for a corner. Corner taken defended by John for a second corner, defended again by John 18 mins - !!SAVE!! Hitchin play some lovely stuff in midfield and break to shoot; great save by Bradley and the loose ball defended away by Louis Half time 24 mins - Ryan with the ball on the right, passes to Marley and then back to Ryan who crosses and the ball goes across the face of goal for a throw in. 26 mins - !!OOOO!! Ryan receives the ball from George and shoots hitting the post 28 mins - Goerge collects the ball from the Hitchin goal kick and passes to Shane who turns and shoots just wide 29 mins - !!GOAL!! Hitchin with a free kick just outside the box on the left hand side. The ball lifted over the wall into the top right hand corner - what a wonder strike that was. 31 mins - !!GOAL!! Throw in on the right hand side taken to Shane who turns and shoots, takes a deflection and the ball hits the back of the net. 33 mins - Ryan collects the ball on the right, rounds 2 players and shoots wide - that wasnt far away 34 mins - !!GOAL!! Oh my; Ryan collects the ball on the right hand side, goes down the wing, cuts inside to the penalty box and tucks the ball home - Forrest Gump!! 35 mins - !!SAVE!! Adam plays the ball forward to Shane who shoots, saved by the keeper to Shane who shoots, saved by the keeper and wide 37 mins - !!SAVE!! John plays the ball forward to Marley who hold it well and lays it to Callum who wins the corner. Corner taken into the box and Adam shoots, saved by the keeper. 39 mins - Great tackling from Marley and George to prevent Hitchin getting away in midfield. 40 mins - !!GOAL!! Another beauty from George as he receives the ball on the left from Adam after some nice play on the left. Goerge runs into the box and secures the win for the AS.
