With both teams starting well in the league, this game had more than enough to wet the apatite. With Wolves & Perton having to make five enforced changes due to work commitments it would be a good test of squad depth for the away side. The game started off with Renewal taking control and passing the ball round in a confident manner. A few good chances went begging for the home side and it only looked a matter of time before they broke the deadlock.
Then totally against the run of play after some intricate passing from the Wolves midfield the ball was played trough by Luke Werhun to Ricky Peddie who outpaced the Renewal defence to chip it over a grounded keeper. This was unlucky for the home side as they had completely dominated the first fifteen, twenty minutes! 0-1.
Over the next 5-10 mins it was more or less the same as the home side tried to equalise, then an unfortunate slip of the tongue from the Renewal defender led to him being shown a red card!
Wolves seemed to take their chance and now started to break confidently showing the passing form they have shown all season! A great ball from Ste Worley found Ricky Peddie once again in more or less the same position as before and was able to replicate his earlier effort to double wolves lead with a tidy step over and calm finish! 0-2!
HT - The half time whistle blew and the home side will have felt hard done by and wolves will be glad they took their two main chances!
Wolves started the second half brightly and some good early passing led to a corner which was whipped in with pace by Luke French and found the head of Ricky Peddie who nodded the ball home to complete his hatrick! 0-3.
The last 30 mins belonged to renewal and although they only had 10 men it really didn't show as they passed the ball around confidently. After a couple of half chances the ball finally broke to Phil Shand who confidently slotted the ball home to give the home side a glimmer of hope! 1-3.
A few more chances were wasted by the home side and wolves were able to see the game out to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
All in all it may seem a harsh result on Renewal, but as in other games this season we have shown great fight a determination something which was missing last season. It's another win and we hopefully continue to build on this throughout the season. Next week we have another tough test at home!
All the best to Renewal, great set of lads. We look forward to hosting them at our place later on this season.

"Another game, another win for Wolves. Despite being currently placed in third, they have games in hand over both teams aboves them and on their current form, will cruise into top spot. Famous last words I know, but Solihull away is no easy place to go, firstly for the long trek, which tends to disperse teams either in lateness or 'if I'm going to miss one, Solihull away's perhaps the one to choose'. And secondly, Solihull are no bad side this year; dark horses for promotion."
