After the heartache of game one, Porto stepped up to face a team they had played in a prior tournament
So, one down, one to go in the group stages and the task for the Porto boys was simple. They needed goals and they needed a win to have a chance of progressing.
As with the previous game, Porto were more than matched to the task that the opposition had to offer them. As the game commenced and despite the Porto lads having played only 2 hours earlier, the energy was still clear to see.
Coastal had not played a game during the day and so were expecting the Porto boys to be tiring, which didn't happen. Unlike the first game, this match was end to end and both teams relied on defensive strength, which duly came. The defensive mentality of the Porto boys was constant and the Coastal team were struggling to get round them. Well, all except a little lad wearing the no.5 shirt. It was becoming clear what the strategy was for coastal.. Get the ball to no.5 and let him run. This was the way that all the goals that coastal scored during the game as the speed of this player struggled the defence.
With coastal going 1-0 up, the Porto boys continued to push hard and look for that equaliser. As with the first game though, something was just missing in the final third of the field and the Porto boys, just looked a little soft in front of goal. As with the first game however, came a moment of individual brilliance. Whilst picking up the ball in the midfield, Cole looked like he was heading down a dark alley when he took on the Coastal back line, but after weaving his way past 4 players, Cole managed to place the ball neatly into the bottom corner of the Coastal goal.
With this, Porto again looked like being the next to score as player after player on the Porto side took shot after shot, but all just not finding the back of the net.
With time ticking down, Coastal took the lead again. Through the same play as the previous score.
As the time ticked down, Porto were throwing everything at the Coastal back line and it almost looked to have paid off when a excellent pass and move play sent Max loose down the wing and with a well driven shot saw his shot picked from the top right corner by the keeper. With some appealing that the ball had crossed the line for a corner, the Coastal team broke on a 1 man defence in matt, who was powerless to stop the Coastal team notching their 3rd and final goal of the game
