Wow! what a great game, a brilliant team performance and a new team record set!!! Today we out-classed, out-performed and showed the oppostion what we were made of. There wasn't one player today who did not give 100%, you all showed passion and worked together just like you can. This week it was great to see us perform from the first whistle and not wait until the second half. We started as we meant to go on with a goal in the 4th minute scored by Ryhs after an early subsitution for Jack through injury. This set up the land slide of goals which was to follow, when just five minutes later Callum Lemay scored a lovely individual effort goal. This was followed after by Lemay Senior with a great goal set up by Brad. Unfortunately, Rhys took a knock in the build up to this, which took him out of the game. This gave Tom the opportunity to show us what he was made of and he didnt disappoint as he scored his first goal in the 24th minute just after coming on the pitch. Goal number 5 came in the shape of a gift from their goal keeper to Connor, who whipped in a corner under the cross bar that the keeper couldnt hold!!! Even Connor wasn't sure if he had scored that one!! After barely writing down Connors goal, Gerald smashed in a back post header from one of Connors many well flighted corners. Half time came with us leading 6 - 0 (no half-time roasting this week and no grumbling parents!). The goal keepers switched position with Tyler now on pitch and Harry in goal not that he was needed as our defensive line worked very well and Harry could of sat down for a picnic. The second half continued in the same form with Tom scoring straight away from a good team move. Our goals then started coming thick and fast with Brad smashing in a screamer in the 50th minute. After numbing Jack with as much spray as he could take he came on for Tom and scored with a cheeky poachers goal from Connors shot. Connor was having no one steal his shot and quickly followed with his hat-trick goal supplied by little bro Callum who was terrorising the right back through out the game. Jack was now hungry for the goals and vollied in a great goal from Connors corner. Goal 12 after at least 12 attempts came from Lewis who thought he was taking part in the cross bar challenge today (he only hit it 4 times!) when he scored a left footed shot from the edge of the box. Within a minute Connor (not satisfied with his hat-trick) scored goal number 13 (unlucky for them) as we still weren't done. The last 2 goals were set up by Andrew who had now got hat-trick of assists. Gerald the marauding right back scored number 14 after excellent passing move from the team. Jack cashed in on one of Lewis' cross bar efforts with a tap in for his hat trick - goal number 15. The final goal came from Gerald who completed his hat trick with a solo run and sweet finish - Heskey-esq. Well done to the goalies with a clean sheet and a well disciplined defense. Today we saw some of the best passing we have seen for a long time with great movement up and down the pitch. All the supporters were shell shocked and loved every minute of the game (or was it the cakes) that sweetened the performance. Quotes "Good team result" (refreshments manager aka Kay). One supporter who would like to remain anonymous "Good team performance, however should of took more advantage of the available space and got more goals" (Thank you - Maria Rogers) whoops!! We always want more!!! Great team effort lads and it will send out the right message to the rest of the division. This year is our year!!! Well done and keep it up.
