The Bournes went to Maidstone for their second round Kent Trophy match, but only had the bare 11 due to last minute dropouts and no shows.
A good first half saw the Bournes hit the post and cross bar on various occasions before Jack Griffin gave the Bournes the lead after a through ball by Lee Ealham. Ealham himself then got a second goal for the Bournes who where absolutely cursing at this point in the match and 2-0 up. Unfortunately poor defensive play out on the left gave Invicta a clear chance to put the ball in the box which resulted in an easy goal and a glimmer of hope for them!
In the second half Invicta came out battling and eventually got the equaliser as the Bournes players started to tire.
With no substitutes on the line to bring on and an injured player on the pitch it was only a matter of time until Invicta got the winner. This came in the 70th minute and finished off a disappointing away day for the Bournes losing 3-2.
MOM was Jack Griffin and great battling performances from Dan Wanstall, Chris Drew and Lee Ealham
