Home league match played on 12 January 2013.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

IT WAS A BOTTOM OF THE TABLE CLASH AND A BIG 6 POINTER AS CERNEY LOOKED TO FORGET LAST WEEKS DISAPPOINTMENT AT THE HANDS OF DOWN POLSKA. WITHOUT THE FIRST TEAM HAVING A FIXTURE, MANAGER RENNIE DIDN'T HAVE THE PROBLEM OF ANY PLAYERS BEEN TAKEN THIS WEEK, AND WITH SOME WHEELING AND DEELING IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW, DEBUTS WERE GIVEN TO MATT LAMMOND, ROB MANT AND BEN FINCH.

IT WAS A YOUNG, FIT LOOKING SIDE, APART FROM THE OLD GUARD IN RANDELL, RENNIE, KEEN AND THE DICKSON TWINS AND A BIG THANKS TO OUR CRAIG FOR DEPUTISING THE STICKS AGAIN, WHILE CERNEY LOOK TO SIGN A REPLACEMENT KEEPER, AFTER THE 'UNFORTUNATE' RETIREMENT OF KEV 'THE CAT' MESSENGER.

CERNEY DOMINATED THE OPENING PLAY AND KEPT THE BALL WITH CONFIDENCE THROUGHOUT AND WERE RARELY TROUBLED IN DEFENCE. THE OPENING GOAL WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME AND CAME THE WAY OF DEBUTANT, LAMMOND, WHO TWISTED AND TURNED BEFORE GETTING HIS SHOT AWAY, WHICH WAS DEFLECTED IN BY AN OAKSEY DEFENDER. CERNEY CONTINUED TO FORCE THE PLAY AND CREATED SEVERAL CHANCES, BUT WERE WASTEFUL INFRONT OF GOAL AND REALLY NEEDED TO PUT THE GAME TO BED. THEY DID EVENTUALLY EXTEND THEIR LEAD WHEN DICKSON (THE BIG ONE) CUT THE BALL BACK GIVING KEEN A WIDE OPEN GOAL TO PICK A CORNER, BUT HE INSTEAD HIT IT STRAIGHT AT THE KEEPER DOWN THE MIDDLE WHICH MANAGED TO WRIGGLE ITS WAY IN- SPAWNY SHIT!

IT WAS ONLY A 2 GOAL LEAD THEY TOOK INTO THE INTERVAL WHICH GAVE OAKSEY A LIFELINE AND CERNEY WONDERING WHY THEY WEREN'T COMPLETELY OUT OF SITE. OAKSEY STARTED THE SECOND HALF MUCH THE BRIGHTER AND GOT THEMSELVES BACK IN IT WITH A WONDER STRIKE FROM 30 YARDS, WHICH GAVE OUR CRAIG NO CHANCE AND UNFORTUNATELY HIS FIRST INVOLVEMENT WAS PICKING THE BALL OUT OF THE NET. IT LOOKED AS THOUGH IT WAS GOING TO BE A TYPICAL CERNEY PERFORMANCE BY THROWING THE GAME AWAY AS OAKSEY PRESSED ON LOOKING FOR THE EQUALISER. WITH CHANCES GOING A MISS AT BOTH ENDS, THE INTRODUCTION OF SLANEY SWUNG THE GAME IN CERNEY'S FAVOUR. HE LATCHED ONTO A GOALMOUTH SCRAMBLE AND PLACED A SHOT INTO THE BOTTOM CORNER TO EASE THE PRESSURE ON HIS TEAM. CERNEY KEPT THE BALL WITH CONFIDENCE TO SEE THE MATCH OUT AS DESERVED WINNERS.

THERE WERE SOME GOOD PERFORMANCES ON THE DAY, IN PARTICULAR FROM THE NEW LADS WHO SETTLED IN WELL AND STAKED STRONG CLAIMS FOR THEIR POSITIONS. MANAGER RENNIE TOLD KRIS KAMARA IN A POST MATCH INTERVIEW, THAT HE WAS HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE AND CLAIMED ITS GOING TO BE A DIFFICULT DECISION WITH HIS NEXT TEAM SELECTION, WITH MANY PLAYERS COMING BACK AND HIS NEW SIGNINGS IMPRESSING. HE ADDED THAT ITS ALL ABOUT BUILDING A TEAM STRONGER AND BETTER FOR NEXT SEASON AND IT WAS GOOD TO SEE SO MANY YOUNG PLAYERS INVOLVED ON THE DAY.

MAN OF THE MATCH WAS AWARDED TO MATT LAMMOND WHO JUST EDGED OUT BEN FINCH WHO WAS SOLID ALL DAY IN THE HEART OF THE MIDFIELD.

CERNEY ARE ALSO PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE A MASSIVE SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH REN ELECTRICAL, AND THE LOCAL BUSINESS TYCOON HAS PROMISED A BRAND NEW KIT FOR NEXT WEEKS CUP ENCOUNTER WITH KINGSHILL.

PLAYERS RATING WERE WORKED OUT ON AN AVERAGE OF 3 SPECTATORS RATINGS
