Home league match played on 13 March 2016.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Another great day for Football and the Colts were spoilt to be back on the Show pitch at the Show ground. It was in great shape and looked beautiful. The sun was out, the lads were smiling and they were up for this.

The Colts had started previous game at a great pace but were a bit slow out of the blocks here and an early scramble led to them going 1-0 down.

This would be interesting. How would they react? 39 minutes later the answer was clear, emphatically.

Freddie took a quick throw to George who slotted home. 1-1.

Freddie has started brightly and soon picked up a loose ball to make it 2-1.

These two had played well together over the last few weeks and after a shot from George was saved, Freddie followed up to make it 3-1 within the first 5 minutes.

Matty was starting up front and from a great run by Freddie up the line, shot just wide.

Cole back in a more defensive role made a great defensive header to set Freddie up the line again. The Colts has started to show some great wide play in recent weeks.

Matthew in goal came out well to pick up a through ball on the edge of the box and his kick up field set Matty away whose strong shot was saved.

Matty soon got his reward from shooting well when he picked up the ball from Coles sliding tackle to smash it home. 4-1. He celebrated the length of the field.

Will was defending well but was unlucky not to get the break of the ball following a strong tackle. Up n Comers shot from distance and it was too high for Matthew to save. 4-2.

Seconds later the Colts got caught up field but Cole made a great last ditch tackle. A proper defenders stretching tackle. He was up the field in the next attack and from Georges cross his shot rattled the bar.

George made it 5-2 with a typical mazy run and cool finish.

Will made a strong defensive header. Again showing how the Colts had matured into proper player. Last ditch sliding tackles, defensive headers, great wing play and strong midfield presence were all on show today.

James soon got on the score sheet. Well-deserved after some great performances of late 6-2.

Ryan now took over the note pad and watched over a very strong 10 minutes for the Colts.

James made some strong runs up the wing before Cole slotted home 7-2.

Jack was trying to get on the score sheet and shot well from distance.

George scored again 9-2 after Cole hit the post.

The Colts had a free kick on the edge of the box. At first it was thought it was a penalty and Matthew was summoned forward form GK but it was just outside the box.

He had to be on his guard a few minutes later as the Colts got caught upfield and a scramble made it 9-3.

James made it 10-3

Will soon made it 11-3. There was a whiff of handball but he played to the whistle that never came and slotted home.

James scored again 12-3.

Ryan then banged one into the top corner 13-3.

Finn made a number of strong runs and like others was desperate to get on the score sheet but it was not his week.

Rayn knocked in another 14-3.

Will was having a great game and netted again 14-3.

James slotted home again to make it 15-3 before Ryan took the tally to 16-3.

A great win for the lads.
