An Indian Summer saw the crowds flock to the bustling home of SAHA.
It wasnt just the Colts palying at home todaty, there were games everywhere. Proper grassroots parklife football.
The Tigers were the visting team for the Colts first home league match.
Zen was late so Matty P picked his gloves up to get back into goal.
He was called into action early on and with no signs of rust he was strong in an early save and Finn had to be quick to defend an advancing Tiger.
The Colts were stuttering and a defelction let the Tigers in 0-1
No problem, the Colts stayed true to their methods and Cole passed out lovley to Ryan who flew up the wing. From the corner a scramble fell to Will who shot over.
Finn showed some nice skill and set Will up with another neat pass.
Zen kicked it out to Cole who cut the defence with a pass to Ryan who fed Matty, running in goal his shot hit the post.
The Colts went 2 down from a strong shot 0-2.
Finn knocked a cross that was turned away for a corner. the Tigers had to stay strong from the corner and the Colts were not unlucky not to score.
Ryan set up Cole next who forced a good save from the Tigers keeper.
Matty was next to show some skill settign up Ryan who hit a cracker that glanced the top of the bar.
Finn was quick to latch onto a break of the ball and he was in on goal. His shot was too strong and it found its way under the advancing keeper. 1-2. Game on.
Freddie was back in the side and as ever took the ball from midfield and moved it forward with typical ease. One pass set up a corner.
Freddie and Ryan battled well from the corner and Ryan was able to slot home 2-2.
Freddie began to run the midfiled and his wing splitting pass allowed Ryan to cross to an charging Jack who was unluky not to get on the end of it.
Colts were slow to deal with a throw in and the ball squirmed into the box allowing the Tiger to slot home 2-3.
Matty P was now out of goal and made a mature decison to find touch when he was left one on one.
Cole playing slightly further forwward hit a strong shot that was well saved.
Zen kept the Tigers at bay and Freddie batled hard for the ball.
One such tackle allowed Will to advance and he took the ball out of his feet before striking home 3-3. Digging it out of his feet he shot across the keeper.
Zen was brave at the feet of the Tigers.
Matty and Jacob had their instructions and stuck to it, one of them staying in the middle of the goal. Matty in fact was able to get forward and took a strong shot.
Matty J helped relieve the pressure taking the ball upfield twice.
Jacob kept strong at the back.
Finn jumped to head towards goal from a corner.
Freddie knocked another one wide to Ryan and his cross was just too high for Matty J.
Zen made a strong double save but was unlucky to see the scarmble bundle over the line 3-4.
The Colts kept battlign well and the game flowed end to end as the Colts tried to get back into the game as the Tiger tried to kill the game off.
A brillian tlast five minuts saw the game draw to an exciting conclusion.
A brilliant game to start the season, albeit the Colts lost. They kept to their game plan and battled well.
