Sacriston entered the game on an excellent run of form and ran out 5-0 winners in a potentially tricky game at home to Ferryhill Dynamos.
The game was contesed in strong cross-field winds and both sides struggled to get their passing games going at the start of the game. It was Sacriston who got an important first goal when Dean's teasing corner was spilled by the Ferryhill keeper and Renwick was on hand to bundle the ball into the back of the net to put the home side 1-0 up.
15 minutes later without any other really action Sacriston won a freekick deep inside their opponents half on the right hand side. Dean again delivered a fantastic ball in and it was Renwick who climbed highest and directed his header into the far corner for his second of the game.
Sacriston took their foot off the gas slightly at this point and were fortunate to maintain their two goal lead when a mix up at the back led to the Ferryhill striker missing an open goal, though in fairness from a very tight angle. However this let off spurred Segga on to extend their lead shortly before half time, Luke picking the ball up just inside the opposition half and playing a pin point through ball in behind the Ferryhill defence which Renwick latched onto and fired home to complete his first half hatrick.
The second half kicked off and Sacriston dropped slightly deeper than the first half with Ferryhill enjoying the better of the opening phase of the half. Despite Ferryhill having more possesion it was Sacriston creating the better chances and should have made it 4 when Luke crossed excellently on the volley to find Andy White free at the back post who's header somehow went over the top, a definite fine!
Fortunately Sacriston did kill the game off minutes letter with Luke playing the ball wide to Winter who took a touch and smashed the ball into the roof of the net on his right foot from outside the box (from the sidelines it looked a cross-come-shot aided heavily by the wind) but in seriousness a very good strike.
Winter extended his and Sacriston's tally minutes later when Luke ran at the heart of the Dynamo's defence and took it by the last man leaving Winter to take the ball in his stride and calmly beat the keeper with a low finish into the bottom left corner.
Sacriston then made a number of changes with Foz, Dan and Davey replacing Ben, Finch and Renwick. Winter should have sealed his hatrick on the 75 minute mark when Dean's crossed found him completey free yards from goal, only for the winger to strike straight at the keeper who tipped it over (another fine needed). Summers also came close 5 minutes later when Dean's inswinging corner found him free at the back stick only for his volley on goal to be kept out by man on the post's gut.
Ferryhill almost nicked a consolation goal right at the end when Chalky was put on the weights by the Ferryhill centre forward but Davies remained big and made an excellent save to keep the clean sheet in tact. To be fair to Chalky the referee's assistant was flagging for what looked a certain foul!
Man of the match goes to Summers who yet again had a fantastic game at centre half and won everything that came at him both aerially and on the ground, the big number 6 looking stronger and stronger as every game goes on this season.
The headline goes to Dean Smith who after a few pints claimed 'Dangerous Dean' definitely should have had four assists today if it wasn't for some 'terrible' finishing! A great win and clean sheet for Sacriston who look ahead to High Handenhold next week.
