RBC have had a great start to the season with 19 goals scored in 3 games and only 6 conceded (although 6 conceded in 3 games on its own isnt great !!)

Bethel always seem to give us close games and always seem to leave the boot in and make hard tackles. Other than a thumping victory at fortress fairview last season (7-2 i think) we always seem to lose by the odd goal so i was pleased to see everyone up for it and some good play all over the pitch.

Im afraid that whilst i work out how im gonna keep the family happy and still spend enough time with my boy i was all over the place playing with him, watching you lot from a far and generally busy. Thanks to Mark who managed for a half and Stu C who was before he got injured early on. Thanks Nash for taking over that role though.

I saw an early chance from Monkey Mike headed over the bar from about a yard before he did get ours and his first goal of the game. I cant actually remember what happened tho but i think i was on the seesaw at the time !!!

I missed their equaliser but heard it was cheap but saw the 2nd goal for us, a defensive header won by buckell in our half, a long through ball played to Hemmings and a great option provided by mike to the side leading to steve calmly sliding the ball past the keeper for his first of the season, this normally leads to bucket loads more so we'll be hoping !!

We made 4 changes i believe at half time and we went out a bit scrappy which is understandable and they got the equaliser with a VERY scrappy goal. Little 1 twos from our own box and a number of chances to clear it were blown, In situations like that i dont need to remind you that a big Gurel clear (Hoof to those not in the know) would serve brilliantly and have avoilded a potentially costly goal.

We created numerous chances after this and looked generally good all over the park and deservedly took the lead with a 2nd goal from collins side footing in after a goal mouth scramble with them trying to hold on for dear life. I confess that i missed Hemmings next goal to make it 4 and cant remember collins hatrick goal. In fact, i remember vaguely lee scoring with a nice finish and his pace was causing them all sorts of trouble up front.

Gary M then got a well deserved goal with a long range cool finish and in fact he could have had a hat trick of long rangers as it became a shoot on sight training game almost. We looked like we would score every time we came forward.

Then some idiot started tinkering with the team and we lost concentration, organisation and flow and it lead to us conceding 2 goals in a row. Both were sloppy goals which could and should have been avoided and suddenly at 6-4 with about 5 left on the clock it was game on again perhaps.

Fortunately Lee scored to win the game at 7-4 but it looked like either side could have scored whenever they attacked.

Lessons re-learned from me here and i apologise for it all. Next up is Danbury which will be a massive game. We lost 3-2 to them last season with a last minute free kick. Last week they beat the team that won the league last year so i hope we can beat em and keep our own credentials for this league going.
