PGS Global 1
Future Steps 1
13/11/2011
As games go this certainly wasn't one for the purists. A less than average performance earned PGS a draw against bottom of the league Future Steps today.
Despite the 0-0 score line at half time it was PGS who had the better of a poor 1st half. Firstly Luke squared a ball across to Del who controlled and shot only to see his effort hit the crossbar and sale over to safety. Luke was then himself guilty of missing a golden opportunity when he took down a cross from the right onto his chest but saw his effort go high & wide.
Half time 0 - 0
A change of formation (from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2) and substitution (Scarborough for Hands) at half time was made to attempt to inject some creativity & energy into a performance lacking both. However it was Future Steps who struck 1st. A long ball was missed my Carl Jackson leaving S.Mills the chance to slot past the oncoming keeper putting the visitors ahead.
Luckily, it didn't take PGS long to equalise. A questionable off side goal was neatly finished by Del, his 6th of the season. The remaining time never quite got going like the Manager had hoped and a decent save from Bigjob in goal towards the end of the game kept the scores level and earned both teams the point they probably deserved. With 4 points out of 6 now on the board results will hopefully continue to improve.
