Flixton 7 - 2 Oakhill
The dream of 4 Feldman Cup Finals in a row fell short this year with an unlucky defeat to Republic of Flixton. With Ross Bloomberg on the sidelines unable to play despite flying back from Denmark especially fot this, Oakhill got off to great start with a couple chances unable to find their way into the net, a clearance off the line from Joe Ben Kaitcer the best of them all. But the momentum of the game change with an extremley soft penalty decision given to Flixton who went 1-0 up despite the keeper guessing the right way. A few moments later and another penalty gave Flixton a 2-0 lead and uphill struggle. Oakhill kept battling but moments later a Flixton player picked up the ball in what seemed to be an offside position and was able to dispatch his finish into the b ottom corner. A long range cross/shot and Oakhill unable to clear from a corner left the away side 5-0 down at half time. A switch to 4-4-2 meant Marc Maynard now pushed up top to his preferred positon and Oakhill came out strongly. A barge on the oakhill keeper lead to ball falling to a Flixton man in the box and they were able to extend their somewhat underseved lead to 6. But Oakhill never gave up and their fantastic second half performance finally earned them the goal they deserved as some good play from Maynard meant Benjamin Las was able to break free but a handball from Flixton defence gave us a penalty, calmly dispatched by the now officially joint top goal scorer for the season (along with own goals)Robert Selwyn. As Oakhill pushed on Flixton were able to break and snatch another goal before Co-manager David Seligman smashed the ball home after the ball came back off the bar from a Jacob Brunner header. A spirited second half performance from oakhill, and a generous scoreline for Flixton.
We will beat them in the League!
