Well done lads. As we’ve said a great all round performance with few blemishes but we take the good with the bad. Firstly, We were trying something new which you all gave a 100%. Secondly, We fought hard for each other especially last 20min and even after last week. I think it’s fair to say bar penalty and few crosses we were the better team today. We all wanted the ball and where composed when on it and put some nice moves together

Emmet – 8 Did well between the sticks. Always looking for the ball and talking to the lads in front. Had the penalty covered if on target!! Commanding of his area and good organising when defending set pieces
Greg – 9 Reassured on the ball. Passed out from the back when it was on and went long when needed. Good understanding with matty. Little mix up with Emmet early on but that will come. Other than that exceptional performance.
Matty – 8 Excellent performance. Not much went past you today and composed on the ball when playing out from the back. Organised well for set pieces. Just less complaining during warm ups!!
Sean – 8 Another consistent performance from you. Bar one or two occasions positioning was great. Maybe at times tried the wonder pass when a short/simple pass inside was on. Other than that not much got past you.
Aido – 8 Again another consistent and steady performance. Reassured and calm on the ball. Always offering yourself as an outlet. Could maybe be a bit more vocal to let team mates know where you are. HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Paul – 9 Played the position in front of the back four superbly. Covered well. Did maybe drift from time to time leaving space in behind but quick to get back. Caught once or twice taking a risk. Composed on the ball and superb distribution from midfield.
Foley – 7 Red card tarnished your performance. Put the team under unnecessary pressure. Didn’t shy away from the tackles or challenges. Some nice through balls came off. And even the ones that didn’t exhibited a good awareness of the space in front/behind. Again gave us a physical presence in midfield which they didn’t like. Need just a bit more poise.
Mark – 8 Difficult role in midfield. Caught between two minds whether to attack or not. Showed what appeared a lack of fitness before substitution. Illustrated at times what we want from you with making yourself available, getting back to cut out attacks and forward runs linking well with the forwards.
Alex – 8 Followed the plan to the letter. Offered great support to ben coming off the wing and had the beating of your man each time. Was a real handful showed good awareness to track back and help the full back when needed. Again learning when to pull the trigger and not take that extra touch. Gave us everything till the tank was empty.
Liam – 7 Again like Alex did all that was asked. Played on the edge and took your man on beating him most times. When cutting inside produced some good through balls. All round Link up play was good. The odd time took too much out of the ball – time and place. Red card spoilt performance
Ben – 9 Worked tirelessly up front when it could of been easier to shy away. Was in the game from the first minute to last. Occupied the two centre backs and they never had it easy on the ball and played on their shoulder the whole game. Unlucky not to score early on but made a mends later with a neat finish.
Neil – 7 Not easy to get into a game like today. But adjusted quickly. Offered great support in front of aido and not timid in your challenges. Very nearly bagged a goal for yourself which portrayed good movement and follow up to make yourself available
Rob – 7 Filled in for sean well. Covered well, not deserting you defensive duties but keen to press. Maybe too eager to get forward but all in all was a solid performance when coming on.
Conor – 7 Filled in on the right side well. Looked for the ball every time you where available. The touch past your man to win the free and his second yellow was priceless for relieving the pressure on the team.
