Now that the dust has settled and the excitment of the game has calmed down, this is the right time to do the match report. Both teams were evenly matched in ability and battled well in the first half the cubs defence held up well, and was solid speical mention to Archie who played really well in defence, and did great with Liam and Ted.
The Cubs conceeded a free Kick, and a penalty in the first half( Ted and Liam, Keep your hands down LOL).
What can i say about the penalty... What could have been a kick in the teeth after playing so well, turned into a Triumph, with Marek( Gold star for him) doing a blinding save and clearing his line, then from his clearance, we went on the attack and nearly scored. We conceeded a few corners but as i said the team played good cleared our lines well.
2nd half john came on for Ted.The team played well again competing well Noah, Shay and Jaylen played well in Midfield and attack and competed well attacking and tackling getting a lot of shots off. Pivotal moment in this half the Foxes had a great attack after a clearance from their defence The Foxes had a one on one with Marek in goal, as their player shoot Marek came out of his goal at the right moment, and again pulled off a fantastic save( Thats two Gold stars). I managed to recover from that, I was reffing the match as well ! As Sir Alex Fergerson famously once said "Football Bxxxxy Hell".
Again the cubs kept on attacking Noah and Shay made some great runs on the wing getting the ball into the box also some more good shooting efforts from the Team. Liam was commanding again in defence bring the ball out like "Lucio" Brazillian Centre back, who plays for A.C Milan (If you did'nt know). distrubuting the ball to the midfield, and getting some shoots off himself. Then wait for it ! wait for it! Like a pheonix being reborn from the ashes of a fire Jaylen ran onto a cleared ball, went past a defender, then dispatched a shot passed the foxes Keeper into their goal. I had'nt being that excited by a goal Since Ole Gunnar Solsjar scored the Winner for Man U against Byaarn Munich at Nou Camp in 1999 Champ league final. ( I managed to contain My excitment) I was reffing the game had to be impartial( whoopy doo !). Speical mention to Adalade from the Melton Foxes. I tell you what she gave our team a fright or two and showed great skills during the game, fantastic little player. we carried on, shay had a couple of shots one going past the post John Liam and Archie defended well and help Marek keep a clean sheet.
After the game we did a penalty shoot out, Speial mention to Archie who went in goal for us, he did some good save. Great Result for the team good confidence booster for the lads. Once again thanks for the Parents for their support before, during and after the match. Speical mention to Scott the coach of the Foxes, who helped our parents put one of our goal up before the match. Main thing both teams competed well and enjoyed the match.
