2 Joe Nash goals in normal time and the players holding their nerve in a nail biteing penalty shootout saw the team go through to the Hampshire cup semi final for the first time in our history.
Diificult to put into words how proud i feel about my players right now.
To get past a side like Meon milton takes a phenominal effort & thats exactly what every player who crossed the white line gave me today. The concerntration and attention to their individual tasks was spot on. The work ethic, belief & togetherness was also on show. This group of lads have come out of nowhere over the last couple of years and the improvment has been amazing really.
Joseph Nash continued his impressive start scoring another 2 goals in normal time. Very difficult to keep out a quality Meon team tho as the visitors responded with 2 Max Davies goals.
2-2 & on to Pens !!
From this point i have to give credit to the players who had the confidence to step up & tuck the ball away. Scorers in the shootout were Max Wilson, Joe Nash, & Matthew Cotton. A massive well done to Alfie Walkley also with 3 great saves to help us through to the Hants cup semi final... Enjoy every minute lads as this is what you all work so hard for ! COYRs !!!
