Drenched Tornadoes hit the Reds for 6
Tornadoes got back to winning ways after two tough games, and despite not hitting top form they were comfortable winners in the end. Going forward once again we looked superb at times, always best when we let the ball do the work, i.e PASSING rather than too much individual play. Midfield three and striker are all natural finishers, just need to learn to play even more as a team. Similarly we have to work back as a unit from midfield, to give our defenders better support.
Notes stopped in the torrential rain, but here goes. On 7 minutes we got the opener, good work from Ethan led to a throw in, which Dylan launched into the box, which James got a nice glancing header on to score, nicely taken James, great throw Dylan. On 9 minutes Ethan put Dylan away with great through ball, just a slightly heavy first touch gave the keeper the opportunity to save. We continued to press and Josh went close close on a couple of occasions. Second goal on 20 minutes, was really well worked, James making a good pass out from the back, Ethan then to Kyle back to Ehan who returned the favour setting Kyle away to finish calmly. Great teamwork, letting the ball do the work!
Reds hit back, and from one of many corners we were hesitant to clear and the ball was stabbed home leaving Joseph no chance. This is when the rain started to then come down very heavily and the notes ran out.
Third goal I think was another nicely worked team goal with Kyle setting up Josh for the finish. Fourth goal, was a short corner Seb and Josh interchanging before Josh smashed it home for a great strike. Reds showed great spirit and came right back into it, first a good move down the right and a nice cross and tap in, third a goal mouth scramble and a good shot into the bottom corner. Joseph also had to make a couple of good saves. Fifth goal was a scramble and Kyle was there to finish with power and accuracy, this took the pressure off. Last goal was a lovely through ball to Ethan, who took it round the keeper and finished expertly, another example of good team work lads! We also hit the post about four times and the keeper was there man of the match making I would say, making probably 10+ good saves as we peppered the goal.
Again at times we let the opposition bully us off the ball, need to stand up and be counted in our last game of the season, when we have the opportunity to finish third.
Run down of the team: - Joseph had a relatively quiet game couldn't do a lot with the goals, good kicking bar one! James made some vital clearances, looked to pass well, scored with nice header, just been to be a little stronger in tackle at times. Harry - Another good solid defensive game, reading the game well. Seb - Looked promising in his second spell on the pitch putting through some nice passes and going close to scoring, be confident and don't worry if you make a mistake! Kyle all action as usual, does all the hard work in the middle of the field and finishes well, maybe just look to pass a little quicker at times. Josh - On fire with the goal scoring at the minute, another two great strikes, just need to try and give Kyle more support some times with defensive side of the game on occasion. Dylan some good link up play, two excellent assists and battled in the tackle, need to stop moaning at the referee's, let your feet do the talking, and get the passing going like you did for last goal. For man of the match just shading it for me was Ethan, worked hard on the right, was always looking to link up play with his team mates, and scored a nice goal.
The team has got good potential because goals will always come, need to be more street wise when defending, being that little bit stronger, and need to work better as a unit, support each other in the tackle, and give each other encouragement at all times.
I know quite a few have commitments again this mid week, but any players who want to train with the Hurricanes the training is 6pm Wednesday school field, where Gary, Chris and Michael will be taking the training. Next weeks game date and time of ko is to be confirmed. Well done all in the torrential rain! LETS GO TORNADOES!!!!!!!!
