In September 2018 FC Gringos endured the saddest day in their illustrious history. With all the rumours flying around, it was all but confirmed after a 0-5 defeat that the mighty Gringos had entered liquidation after failing to pay their outstanding debts. Players and fans alike were distraught, with Gringo #9 Ted Kirkham saying 'Fuck sake I've been playing up here seven years and now Gringos are no more'.

But on the 19th of March 2019 after a six month hiatus, the mighty Gringos rose from the flames of despair like a Phoenix and once more graced the pitch.

There was a debut start for new Signing Kane 'De Jong' Bourne after late injury drop outs by JT (Flu & The Shits) and Xabi Aleebo (Skivealitus). Alexander Huntega, Callum Legs Parf, Mitch Wagwaan, Roberto Carlos and Tedabayor completed the line up on the Gringos return.

Gringos first opponents were a bunch a fucking pikeys, literally. One can only assume they were named Hughes, Joby or All ye dead. Gringos gained the innovative straight from kick-off, dominating the play. Around about the 10 minute mark they made there breakthrough, March Signing De jong hustling his way down the right hand flank before laying it off to Wagwaan to slot home with a trademark finish. Gringos continued to dominate with Tedabayor having a few chances but being left frustrated. Alexander Huntega was largely untested in the Gringos goal thanks to defensive solidarity from Legs, Carlos and De jong but was solid when called on and distribution was on point. Half time came with the score still at 1-0 which could of been more if the mighty Gringos stopped trying to force it. Half time also saw an enforced change as Roberto Carlos who was carrying a knock before the game, took the gloves after a valiant effort, and Huntega took his place on pitch.

The second half continued in the same vein as the first, with Gringos superiority shining through. Legs was a brick wall and after regaining possession started a counter with a deft long ball up to target man Tedabayor. Tedabayor brought the ball down beautifully before bearing down on goal and slotting home the second. Now Gringos had built up some steam (Quite literally in the case of Huntegas head, steaming like a boiled egg fresh out the pan). The third came soon enough, once again Legs dissposessing the opposition before unleashing a fierce strike across goal. The floodgates were open and Tedabayor buoyed by has earlier goal, had a new leish of life. Driving through the middle before tucking in his second and Gringos fourth. With Huntega sitting deep it aloud Legs space to roam forward and he took advantage by gliding forward and leaving the pikeys in a spaghetti mess before also grabbing his second of the game from centre back. There was still time for the mighty Gringos to net a sixth, with Wagwaan driving through the middle before spraying it out to Tedabayor on the right wing. After some tidy footwork Tedabayor created an opening for himself before toe punting past mushty for his hatty. After a debatable handball decision against Huntega, Gringos had one last counter with Dr jong eluding pikeys like a Friday night at the fair. He must of watch the infamous Gringos knee skill on YouTube cus he pulled a naughty bit of skill himself, a perfectly executed maradona turn followed by a strike destined for top bins only to be denied by a pikey cunt. Overall a very positive result for Gringos. A clean sheet apiece for Huntega and Carlos, a Hatty for Tedabayor. Utter domination from Legs. All worthy of the Man of the match award but this week it goes to debutant De Jong who slipped seamlessly into the squad with a combative display. It's good to be back.
