Home league match played on 20 December 2012.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

The stage was set for Fc Barceboneher's toughest test to date. Having already got an away draw against Old Skool, the Boners were looking forward to welcoming Old Skool, the league leaders on their home turf. Yet the Boners were badly in need of a win as things on and off the pitch were looking dire. A scuffle between Sloane (the gaffer) and top scorer Darbinho following a disagreement on team tactics was the culmination of an outpouring of emotion for desperate desire for promotion.

For the first time the home fans came out in numbers to support the boners, with two young fans being allowed on the pitch to train with the team before the game.

Promptly after this the call from the referee summoned the players onto the pitch and the game began in earnest. As the minutes ticked by and the game got underway neither team really seized the initiative. That was until Darbinho and Sloane brought the passion from Saturday to link up beautifully with Sloane scoring a screamer to put The Boners in front.

Following this early lead The Boners looked to kill the game and played perhaps not their greatest football which led to comments from the Old Skool players like "they've only got the long ball" which was quickly followed by “and the win” by keeper Ryan who was putting in the performance of his life.

Changes were made and Fidel came off. Then Old Skool finally got fire in their bellies and came forth and put two past keeper Ryan Chandler in three minutes. Disheartened and angry, could the Boners get back into the game in time? Had they left it too late and blown their chances to win the game, to beat the top of the league? to qualify for the league above?

In the following few minutes, Darbinho, The Boner's most consistent striker stepped up to the plate to regain a point and equaliser with a left foot blinder from just inside the opposition half. Shortly afterwards, great inter play from Simon “The Bear” Peggs and the Strikers, saw Fidel rejoin the fray and net a peach of goal following a deft touch and a instep drive with his right foot. Having regained the lead it is no exaggeration to say that everyone on the pitch heard Santi's Celebration.

After that things went from bad to worse for Old Skool. Santi "I've been in cuffs" Cazorla played in Sloane for his fourth, a slick finish that hit the opposite side netting. Finally silky link up play between Kev Saunders & Darbinho saw the latter add the fifth with a trademark Darbinho finish. All Old Skool had in return were a few thunderous strikes from their three-bellied right back.

The final whistle blew and the Boners were still in shock. Having beaten the top team in their league 5-2, equaling the amount of goals that Old Skool had let in to date there was nothing else for it. A round of tequilas slammers were the order of the day.

Praise to the FC Barcaboneher’s defense for keeping everything tight at the back. In particular Peggs & Ben “Darnell” Abbott who stuck with their No.10 like herpes after a night out in Vegas.

Every single player gave 200% and was worth their weight in gold in what was a performance that will live long in the history of FC Barcaboneher! 10’s all-round.
