Today we entertained Hawkins FC at Biddenham. With a win last week, we were even more focused to keep the great start to the season going, and what a way we did.
From the start, Raptors could sense that there was goals in the game against a team who formed this season.
Jason Fleeting one on one with the keeper shouldve given Raptors the lead, but his chance was saved well.
Our first didnt take long to come as Chris whipped in a beautiful corner which found in form Jason Fleetings head and found the back of the net. A carbon copy of last weeks goal by the duo. 1-0.
The second came from some good play by Tommy. Picking the ball up out wide, he pushed the ball past the defender, managed to beat him to the ball and crossed a ball across the area, that found Kingsley, who tapped it in. 2-0.
A ball over the top by Joe Santoriello lead to a horrible defensive error by Hawkins that gave Jason another chance. As he picked up the error, he shot low, and unfortunately the keeper could only palm it into the goal. 3-0. Jason keeping up his early season goal scoring form.
Raptors created more chances, but the Hawkins goalkeeper made some good saves and kept the score to 3.
Tommy again on the wing, very much like his first assist got the cross into the area which found Joe, who faked a shot, layed it back to the edge of the are where Chris Patrickson passed home a lovely side footed shot into the far right corner. 4-0.
Another defensive mistake saw Thomas Tompkins outmuscle the defender and slot home a cool finish inside the area. 5-0.
A ball picked up inside his own half by Plaz, was passed beautifully over the defence, and Kingsley, who held his run well, brought the ball down majestically, and rounded the keeper to slot home his 2nd of the game. 6-0.
Another ball over the top found Tommy who timed his run to perfection, which saw the referee ignore the linos flag, and ended with Tommy lobbing the keeper for his 2nd of the game. 7-0.
Half time
With the scoreline being comfortable, it allowed changes to be made. The formation changed to a 3-5-2 and Dan Smith, Cain Hamilton-Boyle and Alex Connolly entered the game. A nervy 15 minutes saw Hawkins up the game , and get in behind the Raptors for the first time in the match.
During this period Big David Adams made a brilliant double save to keep the clean sheet and was a huge presence when coming out and punching the ball away.
This was noted, and the formation wasnt working, so on the 60 minute mark, we changed back to a 4-3-3, which saw the Fox In The Box Plaz re-enter play with Ryan Frear.
With a freekick awarded to Raptors on the edge of the area for a foul on Tommy, Kingsley stepped up and tucked away the freekick, giving him his hatrick. 8-0.
A ball out to the left wing, saw Kingsley outmuscle the defender, cut inside the area and one on one with the keeper he slotted it home. 9-0.
Raptors continued to attack and knew that now it was a case of how many did we want to score.
A ball picked up by Brendan Cunningham saw him push it past the defender and smash a cross low into the area, that found Jamie Frear who tapped home. 10-0.
With the whistle ready to be blown, Raptors were awarded a corner, that saw Jason whip it straight to the head of Plaz, who headed it into the ground and watched it bounce into the net. Plaz's 2nd of the game in a 15 minute spell. 11-0.
A great win today that has kept our brilliant start to the season going. We are scoring plenty of goals whilst our defence is doing a fantastic job of keeping them out.
Man of the match was tricky today as there was some brilliant performances out there, but with 4 goals on his debut for us, Kingsley Lambert took home the bottle.
