Sunday’s game saw Hurst Hornets visit the under strength Panthers and provide a rematch of the League Cup final a few weeks previous which saw the blues emerge 2-0 winners.
As with the mid week game, it took Panthers a long time to wake up and start playing decent football despite having the majority of possession and peppering the visitors goal with shots.
On fire Jermaine Beer carried on where he left off in the previous game and scored a good solo goal, coming in from the left wing, beating several Hornet players before slotting the home into the corner.
After the interval, Panthers and Beer scored a second but moments before the end the visitors were awarded a dubious free kick just outside the area and duly scored through the ball and past the unsighted Robbie Legg in goal.
Panthers now just need a point from their visit to St Francis Rangers in Hayward Heath next weekend to secure the league title and the double.
