Bridge Target vs Birmingham Riverside
Dan Holden’s side bounce back from a painful and cold defeat with a comprehensive victory as they put 9 past the Birmingham boys on what seemed like an easy enough fixture in the National Trophy.
Bridge Target players were ready for the game as soon the referee blew the whistle they pressed Riverside without giving them room to play football. They played with so much passion, determination and energy, which begs the question why did they not play like that against Focus?
I personally was sympathetic to Riverside as their defence were all on hands on deck. Gerald was going past their left back like he was a shadow as if that was not enough Ryan was on the left dancing around their defence and twerking like Miley Cyrus in their final third. How is that from the young magician? Johno played as a CF yes he did oh boy did he have a couple of chances yes he did. You’re right Martin Tyler. However, he will be forgiven as he put pressure on the Riverside defence and kept them boxed in.
On what was already a day to forget for Birmingham boys their afternoon grew progressively darker as Christian came off to bench to make it worse. Thus showing how toothless Riverside boys were and how easily Bridge Target progressed to the next round. However, credit must be given to Bridge Target though they were exceptionally excellent. Jason being originally a midfielder helps his game as a defender
Jason, Jason, Jason lad you are a visionary, the young man has got two assists this season all to Gerald well he says thank you. What a pass from Jason that is what I call VISION. He knows Gerald would make the run for him. In the words of Sir Alex Ferguson “know your fellow players and what they are capable of”. Jason knows Gerald will get there and he played the beautiful pass. Class!
Interview with the manager: “Personally I think Jason had a good game and was solid at the back, he was winning everything in the air and on the ground. He was my man of the match”. - Dan Holden.
Aaron (Andy Baddeley) scores his first goal of the season. Well Jordan if you want to win that bet one would say take a risk papi. He does not stop running does he? If you ask him to run to Birmingham I’m sure he would. Give him a bag of chips and lucozade and he is good to go.
Liam denied a hat-trick by the Lines man
Liam was denied a hat-trick he ran off celebrating what was or could have been his first career hat-trick but the linesman was waving his flag around like a Traffic Officer well you know how annoying they are.
Now boys forget about the loss to Focus, I can’t tell you the future but if you boys keep playing like that you can beat anyone even the German giants Bayern Munich.
