MCKENNA BLAND
AGAIN UNLUCKY BLUESTONE LEFT WITH A THIN SQUAD AS THEY WENT INTO THIS BIG GAME AGAINST TOP OF THE LEAGUE WILDCATS. WE KNEW THIS FIXTURE WOULD BE TOUGH KNOWING WE ONLY HAD THE MANAGER AS SUB. KNOWING IF THE WHOLE TEAM WAS THERE FIT OR NOT AT WORK THE WILDCATS WOULD OF HAD THEIR GAME CUT OUT ON THE DAY. LADS WHO WERN'T FULLY FIT DONE THE TEAM A MASSIVE FAVOUR BY PLAYING AND WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THEM,BRENT(KNEE) & MIDGE (ANKLE).
SO THE BLUES GOT ON WITH IT AND KNEW THEY DIDN'T COME ALL THE WAY TO SOUTHWICK TO LAY DOWN FOR THE HOME TEAM. THE FIRST 15 MINUTES THE AWAY TEAM WAS JUST WATCHING THE WILDCATS PLAY FOOTB ALL AS WE COULDN'T GET THE BALL OF THEM BUT WE WERE PRESSING WELL WAITING ON MISTAKES. AFTER ALL THE GRAFT IN TEH TEN MINUTES CHACING DOWN THE BALL THE SHAPE AND PERFORMANCE LOOKED TO GO PETE TONG AS YOUNG WILSON WENT DOWN WITH A ANKLE INJURY AND HAD TO COME OFF AND MUST HAVE A MASSIVE SHOUT OUT TO MAC WHO HELPED HIM ALL TEH WAY OVER TO TEH CHANGING ROOMS LEGEND. VAUDREY CAME ON 20 MINUTES LATER BY THE TIME HE GOT KITTED JUST AS WILDCATS TOOK THE LEAD WHEN SHAUN WRIGHT-PHILLIPS LOOKALIKE SCIORED A GREAT GOAL AS THEIR LEFT WINGER SWUNG IN AN EARLY CROSS AS THE STRIKER HAD TIME TO BRING THE BALL DOWN AND LOB ALAN ON HIS OWN LINE . 1-0 THE BLUES DIDN'T GIVE UP AND TRYED SOME OF THEIR OWN PASSING AND GOT THE BALL DOWN AND PLAYED A BIT AND TRYED A BIT OF BULLYIONG TACTICS ON THE CATS . BLAND CAME CLOSE AS SOME GREAT RUNNING OFF THE BALL SEEN HIS SHOOT GO WIDE OF THE MARK AND MOMENTS LATER AGAIN HAD ANOTHER GREAT CHANCE BUT FITNESS SHOWING HE DIDN'T HAVE THE LEGS. THE BLUES GOT THEIR GOAL THEY DESERVED AS BIRD DONE WHAT HE DONE BEST AND TOOK ON PLAYERS N GOT A CROSS IN AS MCKENNA SCORED A BRILLIANT LOOPING HEADER AND ALSO ADDING TO HIS TERRIFIC TALLY OF GOALS FOR THE SEASON. 1-1 . HALFTIME CAME AND LADS LOOKED SHOT TO BITS AND ALSO KNOW THEY HAD THEIR WORK CUT OUT AND HAD TO GRAFT WITH NO SUBS ON THE BENCH. WILDCATS CAME OUT ALL GUNS BLAZING KNEW THEY HAD A REPUTATION TO KEEP UP AND SHOOTING ON SITE FIRST 10 MINUTES NOT TROUBLING ROSE. DOUGLAS TRYED TO GET HIS TEAM IN TEH LEAD BUT HIS SHOOTING WAS OFF THIS WEEK AS THE NEXT GOAL PROBABLY WOULD BE TEH WINNING ONE . WILDCATS DID TAKE THE LEAD AS A GREAT TEAM MOVE PUT THEM AHEAD 2-1 , WILDCATS COULD OF AMDE IT THREE AS TIRED DEFENDING SAW THEIR FORWARD GET ONE ON ONE AS ROSE RED THE SITUATION WELL . MINUTES LEFT ON THE CLOCK BLUES PUSHED CENTRE HALF UPFRONT TO TRY GET AN EQUILIZER AS CATS GOT THEIR THIRD IN THE LAST MINUTE FOR 3-1 AND TOOK ALL THE POINTS. MAYBE THE SCORELINE DIDN'T REFLECT THE SCORE BUT WITH NO SUBS ON THE BENCH MENTALITY WAS ON A LOW AND GETTING A LIFT DURING THE GAME WAS HARD AS THE HEAT DURING THE GAME WAS TIRING LADS OUT GREAT EFFORT COULD SAY THEY WERE THE BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE BUT IN MY OPINION WHEN THE BLUESTONE BOYS HAVE A FULL SQUAD WATCH OUT DIVISON 1 OF TEH WEARSIDE COMBINATION LEAGUE CAUSE WE'LL BE OUT TO PUNISH SOME TEAM OUT THERE !
GAMEPOINTERS - WATCHING THE WILDCATS PLAY FOOTBALL FOR THE FIRST 10 MINUTES NOT GETTING A TOUCH OF THE BALL , GREAT FIGHT FIRST HALF BATTLED WELL , BLAND GREAT RUNNING OFF THE BALL FITNESS LACKED , & MCKENNA'S TALLY CONTINUES.
MAN OF TEH WEEK - SUPERMAC - ALEX MCDONALD SNR. CAME TO WATCH DESPITE YOUNG ALEX NOT PLAYING AND HELPED WILSON OFF THE PITCH WITH HIS INJURY AND HELPED HIM ALL THE WAY OVER TOO THE CHANGING ROOMS WHAT A GUY...
