Home other match played on 08 February 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Starting with an experimental line up for the first period, Tigers chased hard and made some good opportunities, but through a combination of fortunate deflections, good goalkeeping and rushed shots the score remained equal for the majority of the period.

Frustration was setting in until Torrres was put through by chevtenko and neatly rounded the defender to hit a low shot with power past the keeper. Goostry kept battling in numbers but Max de sar was rarely troubled in the first period.

Into the second period and again formation changes for Tigers. Samba Sam down the left, chevtenko over to the right and Mark Reina putting on the gloves. All looked well as Torress disposessed the gunners defense on the right and stabbed home from a tight angler to make it 2 nil early on. However the formation still wasn't working and Tigers were not listening or playing as a team.

Torres was then taken off and Max de sar came racing on. Goostry then started to play and chase a little more, pressing forward and with Tigers still looking all over the place defensively it became a matter of time.

Still holding out chev tenko came off too for a rest and Ben Gerrarrad took over on the right. Goostry pressed and were rightly rewarded with a goal but where was the midfield? Mostly watching from the cheap seats as Goostry ran through 4 on 1!

Moments later Goostry put a couple of passes together and drew level with a good low finish. Nothing Mark Reina or Lol Viddic could do, but again the midfield were guilty by their absense. With the seconds ticking away Tigers seemed to stand still and watch as the Goostry player healed the ball inside and drove home an unlikely but deserved third goal!

Into the final period, with Torress and Chevtenko back on the field after their rest, the Tigers began to play and move like they should and were duly rewarded with an early equaliser, a through pass by Samba Sam after some neat work down the left and a low shot levelled the scores. Torress completing his fourth hat-trick of the campaign.

Tigers pressed in a more familiar shape, they even started to pass while goostry hunted in packs around the ball. With Max back in goal and the midfield understanding that they must go back as well as forward there was less to be concerned about defensively.

With 5 minutes left Torress picked the ball up down the left, cut in past two players, the defender committed too early and left Torress one on one with the keeper, of which there was only going to be one winner. Torress slotted home to pickup his 4th goal.

But the game was not won yet, chev tenko had a good opportunity to open her account but hit the post and so too did Ben Gerrrard. Eventually time was called, both teams worked very hard all game, sometimes without much reward but on balance Tigers just deserved the result.
