Home league match played on 21 December 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Cavaliers’ players gave the hardest and gutsiest performance of the season today against Division 3 rivals Lolzors.

With the Referee agreeing a slightly early kick off, Cavaliers Manager was forced into to change his starting line-up as Jack Cossey was stuck in traffic at the McDonalds Drive Thru ordering his breakfast.

Both teams started very slowly with the odd break through here and there only for the finish to be so far off the mark and a number of very late challenges it was easy to spot the players on both sides nursing a few Christmas party hangovers with early bookings for both sides.

16 min: Cavaliers were forced into a very early change as Craig Lewis who was carrying a slight injury pulled up needed to be replaced causing even more headaches for team manager Wilkins.

With several chances being made at both ends, requiring both keepers to pull off some superb saves to keep the score at Nil Nil. The break through finally came thought following a very late challenge by last man Michael Cook who missed the ball completely and clattered his man in the box. Penalty awarded and was cleanly slotted home by Justin Howard.

HT:

Following the break it was clear Cavaliers remained position and upbeat at getting a result from today’s game. Starting with intent cavaliers pushed to bring the scores level as chance after chance came and went. Lolzors keeper Joseph Richardson proving more than a match for the onslaught of attacking Cavaliers players including top scorer Matt Moon.

54 mins: Cavaliers finally got their break through with an impressive play down the left hand side. Gomez cleared quickly to left back Cossey before putting Luke Hughes through down the left who turned his player in fine fashion and cut into the box, lifting the ball over the outstretched keeper. Game on!!!

Both teams began to play some outstanding end to end football with both teams having numerous one on one chances in front of goal. Cavaliers Keeper Gomes kept his side in the game with a string of saves from point blank ranges.

With the away side struggling with the infamous heavy Cavaliers pitch, Cavaliers began to tune the screw throwing 3 men up front.

73 mins: Cavaliers midfielders Mitchell and Sutton piled on the pressure and won the ball in a stretched midfield releasing the ball out wide to Luke Hughes who pushed on in to the box to win a corner. Luke popped in a blinding cross in at the back post to find the unmarked Michael Cook who fired the ball into the back of the net.

At this point of the game, Lolzors came out of the block, all guns blazing and pushed on and on with chance after chance presenting itself however the MOM - Matt Gomez single headedly kept Cavaliers lead with save after save.

A great match from two very passionate sides with Cavaliers claiming all 6 points from both league encounters. A rematch could be on the cards as both sides stand to meet again this season in the League Cup Final should they win through theirs Semi-Final Fixtures.
