Rangers Bounce Back

Rangers put in an impressive team performance in the shadow of the defeat at the hands of QH Reserves. Where in the previous week Rangers had failed to take their chances their was no repeat. Rangers created half the chances that they had against QH Reserves but a awsome team performace saw chances being taken.

Rangers created chances early on but didn't really hit the targe until the 25th minute when from a corner Tommy Burns stuck a curler straight in to the top corner lifting the frustrated Rangers team.

Bedwell began to get physical with Tackles flying in, but Rangers never to be outdone on the physical side of the game gave as good as they got without the moaning and fouling that Bedwell constantly generated.

Rangers struck again in the 25th minute when Ross Mcanlis screamed for the ball at left back and then drove up the line and past to Bedwell players before passing the Ball into Dangers feet, Danger held off the defender with his back to goal and with a shearer like turn found a yard of space and struck a screamer into the top right hand corner.

Halftime 2-0

Rangers came out second half without taking their foot of the gas and continued to test the Bedwell defence. Dommett, Dew and Hill linked up surprisingly well in the 4-3-3 formation and created some nice moves with the final ball and some match sharpness being the only thing missing from a handful more of goals.

Bedwell failed to hod their heads in the the 65th minute when their captain hacked Smithlarr off the ball in the box, but the new matured attitude of smith and hill impressed as they kept their heads and did not respond with their usual overly exited fashion. Rangers were awarded the penalty and Danger slotted home calmly leaving Rangers comfortably 3-0 up.

As the confidence in the team grew so did the quality of AFC's play and some excellent team moves were a joy to watch, Lewis "cillit bang" Dommett embaressed 2 of their players on the left wing to earn a free kick. As his dazzling footwork left them both wanting to kick chunk out of the meat and veg striker who  will be remembered in stevenage as the $@* $*%£ for ever more as he wound them up with his skill and sledges.

Rangers struck again to make it 4-0 in the 75th minute when Burnsy drove down the line hit a cross into the box which DMD (dark manouvre dommett - if any of you wondered what his number plate stood for) directed on goal and deflected in.

Hitchcock broke the play up well in the middle with his tough tackling and grit keeping Bedwell at Bay and he distributed well with Smith and the ever creative wing wizzard Burns. While Rangers tinkered tactically with a new formation of 4-3-3 giving them an attacking edge on the narrow stevenage pitch, the defense was awesome from the word go. Where Rangers have dropped points this season due to lack of focus and moments of daydreaming the back 4 were swithced on and organised throughout and earnt a well deserved clean sheet.

With the return of McAnlis to the side on a free transfer from the Leeds Medics and the additon of Dave "dave dave dave" Keen who had his first start of the season. Both full backs were hardworking from the word go and impressed throughout given their lack of minutes with the team.

If Rangers continue on this vain by maintaining the hunger and focus for 90 minutes then they have a chance to challenge for the league and cup this season.

PS. DMD's missus John makes a mean roast....MMMMMM!!!
