Pillars Football Academy is a grassroots soccer team based in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The academy was founded by Kurt and Odile McKenzie in 2015 with the goal of providing young players with the opportunity to develop their skills and reach their full potential.
The academy offers training programs for players of all ages and abilities. The programs are designed to help players improve their technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical fitness. The academy also provides players with opportunities to compete in local and regional tournaments.
Pillars Football Academy has a strong track record of success. In 2022, the academy's under-17 team won the KZN ABC Motsepe League. The academy has also produced several players who have gone on to play professional soccer, including Akwande Gebashe and Siyamthanda Nyandeni, who both received scholarships to play soccer in the United States.
About the Founders
Kurt and Odile McKenzie are both former professional soccer players. Kurt played for the South African national team, and Odile played for the South African women's national team. The McKenzies are passionate about developing young soccer players, and they believe that Pillars Football Academy can provide a platform for players to achieve their dreams.
