History
The Compton City Football Club was founded in 1922 by a group of local residents. The club's first competitive season was in 1923-1924, when they competed in the North Berks Football League Division Two. The club won promotion to Division One in 1925-1926, and have remained in that division ever since.
The club's most successful period was in the 1950s and 1960s, when they won the North Berks Football League title four times. The club also reached the final of the FA Vase in 1961, but lost to Spennymoor United.
The club has struggled in recent years, and have been relegated from Division One on several occasions. However, the club is currently rebuilding and is hoping to return to the top flight of North Berks football in the near future.
