Formed in 2009 Westercommon Star entered the GDSFC division 2 with only three players and got the core of the team within three months to start that season we went on to win a cup and finish second in the league gaining promotion to the GDSFC The following season we grew in strenth bringing in more new players but as we got better we realized we needed a proper manager and in come Paul King and Martin O'Brian to see us over the line to become league cup winners as well as GDSFC Champions winning the league in the last game of the season winner take all 1st vs second
Season 2012/2013 we joined the Sunday central finishing fourth in our first season in a very strong league that had Trebbal 2 Queens Park Spiders and Milton of colquhoun

History
Westercommon Star were formed in 2009 by a group of friends who wanted to play football together. They started out in the GDSFC division 2, and won the cup and finished second in the league in their first season.
The following season, they moved up to the GDSFC Premier Division, and won the league cup and the league championship. In 2012/13, they joined the Sunday Central Afl, and finished fourth in their first season.
Westercommon Star have a strong tradition of developing young players. Several of their players have gone on to play for professional clubs, including Paul King, who played for Partick Thistle, and Martin O'Brian, who played for Celtic.

Westercommon Star are currently in their 14th season. They are currently in the middle of the table in the Sunday Central Afl.
The team is managed by Brian Foster, and the chairman is Brian Land.

The Sunday Central Afl is a football league for amateur teams in Glasgow and the surrounding area. It was founded in 1986, and currently has over 100 teams competing in it.
The league is divided into four divisions, with the top division being the Premier Division. The winners of the Premier Division are promoted to the West of Scotland Football League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division 1.
The Sunday Central Afl is a competitive league, and there are many talented players who compete in it. The league is also a great way for players to develop their skills and get noticed by professional clubs.
