Team Bonzo FC were founded in 1972 by a group of friends who met at the Bonzo pub in Liverpool. The club initially played in local friendlies, but they soon joined the Liverpool District Amateur Football League.
Team Bonzo FC have won the Liverpool District Amateur Football League championship on three occasions, in 1980, 1989, and 2001. They have also won the Liverpool Senior Cup on two occasions, in 1981 and 1999.
