Partizan Beograd is a Serbian professional football club based in Belgrade. The club was founded on 4 October 1945, and is one of the most successful clubs in Serbia and the former Yugoslavia. Partizan has won 27 Yugoslav First League titles, 13 Serbian SuperLiga titles, 12 Serbian Cups, and 2 UEFA Cups Winners' Cups.
History
Partizan was founded in 1945 by the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). The club's first president was Svetozar Vukmanovic Tempo, a high-ranking JNA official. Partizan quickly became one of the most successful clubs in Yugoslavia, winning its first Yugoslav First League title in 1947.
Partizan's most successful period came in the 1960s and 1970s, when the club won the Yugoslav First League title six times and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice. Partizan also reached the European Cup final in 1966, but lost to Real Madrid.
Partizan has continued to be successful in recent years, winning the Serbian SuperLiga title in 2017, 2018, and 2022. The club also reached the UEFA Europa League final in 2010, but lost to Atlético Madrid.
