More about the team
FC Shepperton was founded in 2007 by old School friends Denneh Suantah and Chris Burkett. They entered the team into the Guildford & Woking Alliance League Division 4. After a season or two of finding their feet, the team started to gain momentum and achieved back to back promotion to Division 2.
In the 2010/11 season FC Shepperton achieved the double by edging an epic victory over local rivals Staines Lammas in the cup final and piping them to the post in the league. The team scored an astonishing 117 goals in 20 games and only dropped 7 points all season!
The following 2011/12 season in Division 1 proved to be an anti-climax with the team struggling to find form and injuries within an ageing squad taking its toll. The team finished a modest 5th and it was clear that some recruitment was needed in the summer.
Going into the 2012/13 season with some new faces and the return of some of the injured senior players the team’s confidence was back. After a tough start with fixtures the lads found their form and started pushing for the title. Going into the final 3 games it was anyone’s league with as many as 5 teams in the hunt to be crowned Champions. It came down to the penultimate fixture Vs Guildford United who were leading the table with FC Shepperton 2 points behind. Win this game and it was in our hands. Unfortunately we lost 3-1! Second place was secured with a final day victory and Denneh and Chris’ dream of promotion to the Premier Division had been realised after 5 years of hard work and dedication.
