More about the team
Dynamo Mince were Formed in the summer of 2000 and as such are one of the longest established teams running at powerleague sheffield after spiralling playing costs and wage bills have seen many other clubs forced into administration, eventually falling by the way side. It all began when a University student by the name of Matthew Lambert decided to assemble a crack team of lame, useless, mincing oddballs to compete in the tuesday league held at power league sheffield. Starting in the wilderness of division seven the Mince found themselves facing even more sub standard and retarded opposition such as the Real Mckoy and were soon storming up the leagues. After two promotions, finding themselves repeatedly finishing mid table in division five, it was decided that some of the vetrans and mince fore-fathers should make way for players who had at least an ounce of natrual ability and who could actually kick a ball. Out went a number of mincers including Gay Neal, and the cousins Adam & Ashley Dean, fringe players such as Steven Bailey were also shipped out, the only three players to survive this cull where Matthew Lambert, Gregory Tattersall and Pete Hampton.
After the dismantling of the old team a new harder, stronger, faster, meaner, better team were galvanised, incoming players included Lee Felvus, Anthony "stamp" Copson, Andy and Simon Gilberthorpe, Tom Vietch, Joe Dakin, Chris "tottal football" Young, Steven Nile, Steven Hill, Dave Monks, Paul Bacon, Woody, Chris Hall and Alex O"Brien to name a few. After successions of comings and goings to the team coinciding with improving fortunes on the field the Mince were finally able to break into the Premiership big time in the Summer of 2004. With the loss of their influential much sought after keeper Paul Bacon even before the beggining of the season (opting for a lucrative transfer to Taen Taxi"s in Korea) Relegation promptly followed. Over the course of a bitter fought season the mince only managed a haul of three points from a potential 36. Finding themselves back in their division one domain the mince bounced back achieving promotion into the premiership again but despite improvements on the pitch and a rollercoster of a season the mince managed only 11 points slightly short of the mark required for safety.
Currently Dynamo Mince are embroiled in another quest for promotion to the premier although the loss of key players such as Alex "side foot" O"brien and Chris Hall has left the team short of quality and struggling. The "will he won"t he" saga of Paul Bacon"s (The Prodgical Son) return and subsequent Departure from Dynamo Mince has left the Mince Boat somewhat rocking.
