The team was founded in 1972 by a group of friends who met at the Coach & Horses pub in Maghull. They initially played in local friendlies, but eventually joined the Southport & District Sunday League in 1973.
The team has enjoyed some success in recent years, winning the Southport & District Division 1 title in 2018 and 2022. They have also reached the final of the Southport & District Challenge Cup on three occasions.
