The Southport & District Amateur Football League is an amateur football league based in Southport, Merseyside, England. It was founded in 1921 and currently has 3 divisions: Premier, Championship, and First Division.
History
The league was founded in 1921 by a group of local football clubs. The original name of the league was the Southport & District League. The league has undergone several name changes over the years, and it was renamed to the Southport & District Amateur Football League in 1990.
The league has grown steadily over the years, and it currently has over 60 member clubs. The league is divided into three divisions: Premier, Championship, and First Division. The Premier Division is the top division of the league, and it is contested by the best clubs in the area. The Championship Division is the second tier of the league, and the First Division is the third tier.
Current Season
The 2023-2024 season is currently underway. The Premier Division is being led by AFC Marine, who have won all of their games so far. The Championship Division is being led by Digmoor, and the First Division is being led by Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs.
