The whites, in action this morning against East Calder Utd, were looking to put in a strong performance after a tough result last week.

Kai led the team out as captain and it was the Albion that started brighter moving the ball really well and creating several chances.

The constant pressure paid off when Noah found himself in space midway through the first half and finished well to open the scoring.

Two minutes later, after a failed clearance by East Calder, Kai picked the ball up in the middle of the park and found the back of the net from distance.

Now in full flow, the whites were really starting to turn the screw - Aaron slipped a delightful ball through for Noah who found the bottom corner with a composed finish which took us into half time.

After an excellent first half, it was a ‘more of the same’ message from the coaches at the break. The players duly obliged straight from the restart and it was Aaron with some excellent play down the right finding Noah once again to round off his hat trick.

East Calder started to get themselves into the game which paid off after a melee in the Albion box saw the ball poked home to pull a goal back.

For the next ten minutes, the game ebbed and flowed with both teams cancelling each other out, only allowing a few half chances due to some good defending.

The last five minutes of the match saw 3 goals, East Calder scored a second with some good closing down and winning the ball high up the pitch.

This promoted the whites to step it up a gear and went straight back up the park, Caelen played an excellent ball up the line to Dexter who provided a scintillating finish on the angle with his left foot.

The game was wrapped up after Dexter fired the ball across the box from a corner for Caelen to tap in at the back post bring the game to an end.

Cullen, watching for long periods, kept his concentration and made a few fantastic saves. Tom was solid in defence standing strong against the East Calder attack. Jenson was really composed at the back with some excellent defending and link up play with the wingers. Dexter, with a stint in defence and midfield worked really hard and made some excellent challenges and forward runs. Kai had another strong game in the centre of the park breaking up play and starting attacks. Marco worked hard on the right and left defending from the front and made some strong attacking runs. Aaron had some magic feet with some tricky dribbling and was a real handful for East Calder defence. Caelen had a stint in defence and on the left and was solid defensively and linked up well with the forward players with some excellent passing. Caleb with a stint on the left and up front worked hard winning several tackles high up the park and made some good forward runs. Noah worked tirelessly up front closing down well with some excellent finishing.

With all players putting in really good performances, the referee had a tough time picking a player of the match however, with his 3 goals today, it went to Noah.

The best team performance from the Whites for a few weeks with all players on top form. Well done boys!

‘Mon the Albion!
