Stepping up into the goal today to cover for a poorly Luke was Alex. Luckily, if that’s the right phrase, Luke came down poorly Thursday - so we were able to prepare Alex through some 1 on 1 training so he wasn’t thrown in at the deep end! Some good clearances today with some safe hands too!
A classy captains performance from our captain Harrison, continuing from his display last week, showing strength and excellent body positioning! Some fantastic vision and commanding with comms today to keep the team moving, together with a few runs forward to help our attack in numbers!
Harry F - a strong performance in defence up against a rather muscly striker, you made sure to get your leg to the ball on more than one occasion, challenging every ball that came your way and helping keep that back line in order.
Henry A - some intelligent defending and seeing the ball out today, really seeing you grow into your position, making it your own! You take instructions really well, and always looking to go to the next step - a worthy parents player of the match!
Henry H - starting for us today and when you found your feet, always fantastic to watch you run at the opposition turning them inside out! A fantastic technically brilliant volley in the second half, that had it been from further back would have caused their keeper a few more issues! Keep bringing that pace!
Bradley - quick to close down within midfield and applying pressure to the opposition, you also listen well to coaching to ensure you covered when necessary any gaps!
Pheen - when you trust yourself and out in your all, you get the rewards. You grew into todays game and position, and when on the ball your deft touches frustrated the opposition - let’s make sure if you are left open in the middle of the pitch you call in help where needed!
Leo - a fantastic midfield performance from you today, you listened to every instruction to drop in when needed and made yourself the most available player on the pitch from every kick we had! Your tracking back and working with Harrison as a partnership in the second half was really solidifying what you bring to the team!
Oliver H - you are the engine of midfield - and when you make those runs forward; as a team we need to cover that midfield position! Crunching tackles and running at and through players time and time again getting your well deserved goal today, and an assist too! Not a bad day on the pitch at all!
Reece - you were beginning to dominate on the right in the first half, and covered the midfield on the right well when we were pulling others across to cover runs forward. It’s great to see your confidence growing and your mentality was spot on today!! I’m looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Matthew - a whole game up front as striker - and you showed time and time again why we moved you there - your fight for the ball and determination was key to the second goal, expertly picking out Harry M for Ollie to them slam it home! A striker out of a Centre back - who knew?
Louis - the tactical man in the middle - changing direction of play and looking for those through balls, you played the perfect weighted pass for Matthew to latch on to for the start of the second goal - getting it out of your feet quickly, and perfectly slotted through!
Harry M - managers man of the match today - you made a big difference when we switched to 4-4-2 partnering Matthew! Positiobally excellent and you check your runs for offside brilliantly too! Positioning and your football brain today was what got you your goal - and almost a second one too!! You never gave up and dropped off Matthew slightly into a comfortable number 10 role, but knew when to attack the goal too!
At 2-0 down I didn’t feel like we were out of it. In previous weeks after 1 goal, we have had collapses seeing teams hit 3 or 4 past us, but mentality was our winner today. Our heads didn’t drop, we continued to play as though it was 0-0 and we got our rewards from 2 excellent goals!!
The team listened well today, they worked hard for each other and showed how much they wanted it!
