West Midlands Saab 2 - Olton Royale 2
Two well matched skilful sides, produced an evenly contested game on Sunday.
West Midlands Saab started brightly and had a lot of possession, only to be frustrated by their inability to put the ball in the net.
Eventually , West Midlands Saab managed to take the lead when Steve Rees finished a trademark Saab move, sweeping home a fine pass from midfield general Matt Carthey.
Saab looked in control, only for Olton to hit back with a well taken goal to make it 1-1.
Saab quickly regained the lead following an excellent long range pass from the impressive Andy Corbett. He found man of the match Phil Ashford, who controlled well and showed immense control and pace to take the ball around the despairing Olton keeper and slide it into the empty goal.
Halftime 2-1.
Olton Royale stepped up their performance in the second half and, after a long period of pressure, equalised midway through the second half.
Although both teams were pushing forward for a winning goal, Olton resisted everything that Saab manager Simon Burchell could throw at them.
The game seemed to break-up with both sides creating good positions without being able to take advantage.
The game ended in a deserved draw.
