Trents unbeaten run came to an end, at table topping Swan. The Trent took the lead after a neat finish from D. Smith, but Swan levelled with a blistering free kick a minute later. R. O`neill restored the advantage with a powerful header from Whitehalls corner. On the half hour following a free kick a Swan player headed home unchallenged, and on the the stroke of half time, the same scenario saw Swan take the lead.
The 2nd half saw the Swan on top and it came as no surprise when they increaded their lead, with The Trent players appealing for offside. Some fine saves by A. Hall kept the Swan at bay, and on 66mins S. Whitehall reduced the arrears. Right at the death the Trent thought they had been given the chance to snatch an undeserved point when the referee gave a penalty, but for some unknkown reason changed her mind and gave a free kick instead, which came to nothing. All in all an uninspiring performance from the Trent and they can have few complaints about the result.
