Well boys we should of won this in normal time and not left it to a shit penalty shootout !! It was fucking cold and wet and horrible and our inability to put our chances away ultimatley lost us this match so we only have ourselves to blame AGAIN.(and dom and jonesy for shit pens) :)
With Dave and Yeomans not available we have been utter wank in front of goal so bring back the goal machines so we can start scoring some goals and putting games to bed !
As far as the game went we played pretty well on the whole with the back four looking more solid than previous weeks with Ade and teapot making up for poor performances last week. kentch only shanked one clearence and look solid at the back with nathan on the whole with Arun view only looking dangerous on the break with there pace.
Tom,boner and ripper dominated the midfield for most of the game but it did leave us a little light up top with benny running his heart out up top on his own. Jay and pete made themselves available but did not get as much ball as they could and only got a few chances to really make a mark on the game which was a shame. Both worked hard though and played well on a wet morning of soccer and a very small pitch.
Fergy was kicking well which is always a good weapon when he plunges the ball in behind the defence of arun view and causes mayhem.
The ref was pretty good and the other team where a really good bunch on the whole with the ref saying at the end of the game that both teams will get 10/10 on ref marks which will help us as the two red cards we have gone against us getting back in the fair pay cup next season.
It was a cup we had a good chance of winning but it's gone now so we can concentrate on the league 3 cup and winning the league. And this sunday we have got Rudwick in the 1st round of the Trophyman cup so all to play for. I am giving a few players a run out as they have missed out recently and trying to give everyone a chance this season which is proving difficult. Matty Paynolski will get a start after almost freezing to death on the side lines on sunday and having a strop with player manager after the game as he only got a 5 minute run out. Manager Ade was quoted saying ' It was a real tough one as when the game is as tight as that making a sub can change and lose you a game which i am ultimatly responsible for and I have to make a judgement call at the time' he rambled on ' its a team game and sometimes thats the way it goes but i dont appreciate people making me feel bad about it right after we have just lost on penalty's as i am just as fucked off as anyone !!' he finished by saying ' I do feel for payno as it was fucking cold out there and i know he only wanted to come on and help the team out but my hands where tied in my opinion'
Boner hurt his calf and is looking like he will be on the sidelines for a few weeks which will be a massive loss to the team. Flamer is still out with a broken spine and wont be risked till he is 100% fit as he only plays at his best then. Yeomans is still injured nad banned so another few weeks at least for him.
kentch is away this sunday so Nik May is making his long awaited first team comeback which the fans are looking forward too. one fan said to sky sports 'I remember last seeing himn play in the 1966 world cup final and cant wait for him to come back and scream at everyone.
He is a candidate for captain for the match to against rudgwick this sunday as he is a born leader.
Arun view will be tough opponents in the league and should prove two good fair tough games when we meet them again.
The super sunday was good for those who bothered to show and the valley bar was a good laugh and we where made welcome which was nice and we now have somewhere to watch footy which is different to the normal haunts.
It remains to be seen who is taking over the vine pub and the club is in limbo untill this time ?? Hopefully they are a good laugh and want us there and will get football and feed us chips after the games ??!?!?!?
