Away league match played on 17 March 2013.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Another cold day in yet another away game for The Unit. We started brightly and with purpose clearly trying to put last week to rest. We dominated some early possesion and forced the opponents back into their own half. cooks broke down the right to cut onto his left to release a fierce shot off the far post, early intentions of how we wanted to approach this game. We showed some real composure through out the team with some nice steady build up play and tidy passing causing AFC Glebe some problems. They had moments them selves down the right with a pacy winger causing some problems of our own but nothing our defence couldn't handle. Their keeper was forced to making some saves as we created some early chances. We produced some of best link up play of the season with the highlight being a couple of one-two's between Jimmy and Droid which carved their midfield in half. Then against the run of play after a goal mouth scramble they forced the ball into our net 1-0. We then showed fighting spirit in yet again coming close by hitting the bar again. HALF TIME We started where we left off and again tested their defence through some clever exchanges to get through onto goal. The Unit had Yetton pulling the strings from midfield and playing some neat balls through for the front line whilst rallying the team around him. After some play of thier own AFC Glebe managed to find a way through with a mis placed pass which fell to their striker who managed to finish 2-0. The Unit came close again after some clever play by Boy who neatly squared into Cooks, for what looked like a certain goal from 6 yards out, only for the mud to ruin the path of the ball and Cooks miss-cue. SUB Tyler for Callum. We pushed on again and forced another save from the keeper and also coming close with a header from Boy. Our set pieces were looking dangerous and we finally broke through with a bit of luck from a Jimmy corner which the keeper had a mare and let it in at his near post 2-1. Game back on and we clearly felt we could get back into them and maybe go on to win. We had some more neat play which even saw Nichol come charging through the pitch and nearly in sight of goal. They then created some chances of their own but few and far between which Rob was able to produce some smart saves. With the game swaying slowly back to a battle AFC Glebe were awarded a dubios penalty which Grima later honestly admitted was a foul. The penalty was clinically despatched 3-1. We tried hard to fight back but with 13 mins left time was against us. Callum managed to find himself in a position through on goal only for the keeper to deny him his chance. We clearly felt we were heading for more goals but it was just not happening. FULL TIME. Possibly the best passing and set pieces of the season which caused the opposition no end of trouble after our defence put in a shift which was unfortunatly broken. On another day we could of had several goals if only we were able to finish our chances. Plenty of positives to take from the game into our nest.
