The Claremont F.C faced Walton Athletic for the second time in 2 weeks, and the result was the same as the previous meeting.
The Claremont started well, and struck early when Danny Patterson played the ball to Will Wilson, who smashed home from close range to give The Claremont an early lead.
The Claremont continued to play nice football, and troubled the Walton defense with some nice play from Jordan Feely out on the wing, however the Claremont couldn't capitalise and the score remained at 1-0.
This wasn't for long though, as Will Wilson sprung the offside trap, and found himself one on one with the keeper. After the keeper saved Wilson's first attempt, Wilson made no mistake second time around, as he slotted home for a 2-0 lead.
The Claremont continued to dominate the game, and Walton had very little chance to score, only able to put a couple of crosses into the area, which were easily dealt with. The Claremont still had a lot of the ball, but failed to capitolise after Danny Patterson scuffed a shot wide, and also forced the Walton keeper into a great save, when he tipped Patto's lobbed volley onto the crossbar.
The score looked like it might stay at 2-0, but that was until Graeme Hinds went on a mazy run down the left hand side, and was hacked not once, but twice, and was finally brought down for a penalty. Gaffer Danny Patterson stepped up, and slotted home calmy to give the away side a deserved 3-0 lead.
Walton tried to play back into the game, but the Claremont centre midfield and defense stood strong, and the referee blew for half time.
HALF TIME
Walton Athletic 0 - 3 The Claremont F.C
Keep things the same was the order at the half time break, and this continued as the Claremont kept the ball well and played some nice football. However, against the run of play, Walton Athletic managed to grab a goal from a long range effort which went past stand in keeper Mick Dixon into the top corner.
Walton seemed more confident from this, and tried to get another goal, but some fantastic defending ensured the Claremont kept a two goal lead.
That two goal lead could have turned to a three goal lead, as substitute James Tweedle flicked on Caleb Eden's long ball to Will Wilson, who found himself through on goal, but he snatched shot went off target.
Walton didn't seem to look dangerous, but after the ball was given away deep inside the Claremont half, Walton managed to bring the lead to just one goal, after the ball was finished neatly from inside the area.
The Claremont didn't panic however, and contined to play nice football like they know they can. The final nail in the coffin was delivered, after Tweedle again flicked on a long ball from Eden, which was collected by Wilson, who laid it through to Graeme Hinds, who made no mistake and slotted the ball home. 4-2 to the Claremont was now the score.
Walton Athletic tried to mount one more attack, but this was thwarted by a monstrous tackle from Caleb Eden who sent the ball, and the opponent flying.
The referee blew the final whistle, and the Claremont F.C came out victorious, with a scoreline that slightly flatters the home side, as they didn't create any clear cut chances, nor trouble the Claremont back 4 too much, who were outstanding.
