Having turned up with 15 quality players the lads started in confident mode, knocking the ball around like Arsenal when they were good. Unfortunately a single break lead to a corner and a soft goal which put us on our back foot. Sunshine showed his true fitness and started to lag after 15 mins but we still maintained the quality to go blow for blow with the enemy and finally snatched an equaliser after 40 mins in true Stoke City style, a long throw and a scramble in the area led to the ball striking Geyhas in the head and GOOOOAAAAAL (4 in 6 matches for Gees as Sol likes to call him). Half time brought changes and we lost some balance, another bit of poor defending led to a good strike and goal from the oppo. Chance after chance slipped by including an excellent free-kick from Rocket Ronnie which struck the bar. Unfortunately shaggy suffered a knee injury only worsened by the volume of his girly scream which led to us going down to 10 men in the last 10 mins and that was that. Another good header from the 58 year old oppo captain and 3-1 with only tales of what could have been to echo around the 18th century changing room. Great effort lads, we battled to the end but didn't take our chances.
