SBV went into this match knowing they had not conceeded a goal in thier last 4 games . Chalkwell however were attending knowing that they had taken a point from SBV in thier first league encounter. Therefore which SBV would turn up was the question. Teamsheet indicated that we had 14 players by KO this had reduced down with Drew pulling up with calf problems and Darren not playing. Also The Ref not showing up left SBV with no option but to allow powerhouse harding to referee. Thus with eleven and a possible twelve at half time with an additional Mark Dennison now declaring he was not injured but would turn out at half time if needed. This said SBV did have a good side out with Chris Miller returning, Matt making himself available but with Morgan absent it was a juggle with positions. so we all drew lots from a hat to see where all were playing Chalkwell started gamely and the early exchanges saw them be competitive but not dangerous. SBV however showed they were good enough to keep Chalkwell pegged back. However Tony Perrys shot from 25 yards with found the top corner after 20 Minutes when early pressure had seen several chances go begging. This started the goal Bonanza. which saw SBV net three more times before half time but also saw several chances missed. The crowd again enjoyed another Cliff 25 yarder where his punt forward saw the keeper off his line and witnessed the ball drop just under the Bar. Lee again showed he had settled into the SBV team and was always a goal threat. As each goal went in the Chalkwell threat dwindled and although they showed spirit SBV were on top of thier game and snuffed out quickly any forward movement they made. Keith by the end of the half was a vitual bystander. The game was also a stop start afair with Chalkwell players seemingly getting knocks and every few minutes. Unfortunately one SBV player hurt himself and the game saw a 15 minute dalay whilst an ambualance was called for a stomach injury and a further 15 minute delay whilst the paramedics attended to him. later we heard he drove home So half time 4-0 to SBV Second half satrted with Chalkwell KO however the tone was set as they were quickly robbed of the ball and within 40 seconds were Kicking off again but this time 5-0 down. 90 seconds later saw them Kicking off gain but this time 6-0 down. naturally this effectively killed the game and the game lost its flow. However this did not stop SBV adding a furhter 2 goals Final score 8-0 scorers Lee 2 Tony 2 Matt 1 Miller 1 Ben C 1 Cliff 1 Referee was excellent Summary we pressed them and snuffed out whatever threat they had. Good team result as next week we start from 0-0 with same opposition in the Semi. Morgan and Co will find it hard getting back into this team as SBV are on fire and now have gone 5 games without conceeding 2 league games needing maximum points, a semi and if the next hurdle is overcome a final awaits
