SINFIN MOOR FC Vs MICKLEOVER 95 FC RAMS

MAN OF THE MATCH

L.HIGGINS

A fantastic performance from L.HIGGINS with his boundless energy from the middle of the park, sparking many attacks from midfield and capped it off by scoring the goal of the game with a long range screamer!!

TEAM PLAYER

J.SCOTFORD

Coming on as a first half sub J.SCOTFORD quickly established himself in the game with his tenacity and biting tackles and breaking up play from the opposition becoming a midfield general, earning himself the Team Player Award.

KICK-OFF:

The boys came into todays game with an air of confidence about them after the 3-1 victory over Ilkeston FC but they came up against a team also flying high after their 7-2 defeat of Duffield Dynamos Hawks.

Sinfin Moor FC were on the back foot from the kick off with GK S.ROBERTS making a save low down to keep the game poised at 0-0.

GOAL: MICKLEOVER 95 3 MINS

Unfortunetly, it didnt take Mickleover 95 long to unlock our defence with a great through ball catching us playing too high up the pitch putting thier striker clean through on goal and finishing neatly in the corner of the goal making it 1-0 to the vistors.

The goal seemed to spark the boys into life with shots coming from J.HARDING and L.PODPORA with a further shot from L.PODPORA bringing a fine save from mickleover 95's GK.

GOAL: L.HIGGINS 13 MINS

With the pressure mounting on Mickleover 95, they finally caved in when L.HIGGINS recieved the ball from L.PODPORA, with the outside of his foot pushing it out of his feet first time to strike the ball from long range taking it over the keeper catching him out of position for his 2nd goal of the season. 1-1.

GOAL: MICKLEOVER 95 19 MINS

The game was flowing from end to end with shots from both sides but it was Mickleover who again took the lead with another breakaway goal with the same player going clean through 1 on 1 with the keeper and with the same outcome with a goal for the opposition to make it 2-1 Mickleover.

GOAL: L.PODPORA 23 MINS

With a change of positions and personel due to injuries, Sinfin were looking to get themselves back in the game and they did through L.PODPORA. A lovely ball through from L.MALCOLM putting him clean through on goal and after a few missed chances previously in the game from L.PODPORA he decided to take the ball around the keeper effortlessly for an easy tap in, a great solo effort. 2-2.

GOAL: MICKLEOVER 95 25 MINS

2 minutes had barely been played and Sinfin found themselves behind again with their striker getting his hat-trick goal, tho I mite add it was a bit fortunate as his shot was partially saved from the onrushing keeper S.ROBERTS which fell just in front of the goal line for the striker to tap in for the easiest goal of his life. 3-2.

HALF-TIME: SINFIN MOOR FC 2 - 3 MICKELOVER 95 FC RAMS

Half-time saw the introduction of a few more subs to try and mix it up a little to try and get at the Mickleover defence. It was more of a midfield battle as opposed to the end to end stuff that the home crowd are used to but a good battle it was with J.SCOTFORD leading the charge with his fiesty tackles and determination to keep Mickleover at bay. Credit also goes to K.KNIVETON-ANDERSON for using his strength to good effect as the lone striker holding off their defence.

GOAL: J.HARDING 49 MINS

3 minutes after his re-introduction from the bench, J.HARDING opened his goal scoring account for the season with a fine strike. A driven pass over the top from C.SMITH sent J.HARDING in the clear and with the ball on his left side he manouvered his body to his right striking the ball over the keeper into the back of the net. 3-3.

Sinfin were looking to push for the win and Mickleover with their backs to the wall were happy just to hold out for the draw. Shots coming from L.PODPORA and L.MALCOLM but the closet shot coming from L.HIGGINS with a volley from a corner crashing against the bar.

FULL-TIME: SINFIN MOOR FC 3 -3 MICKLEOVER 95 FC RAMS

SUMMARY:

A great fight back from Sinfin coming from behind on 3 occasions showing great character from the team and I feel it was only time that stopped us from winning the game in the end in which the opposition were happy to take a point away from home. Again some cracking performances from the players showing us that it is a squad game with players coming off the bench to shine within the match giving the management a bit of a luxury headache when it comes to team selection next game.

NEXT GAME:

LITTLEOVER DAZZLER BARCA

Our nearest and local rivals have played 2 and won 2 with a goal difference of +18. The stats seem great however we know how they play having played them in numerous friendlies over the summer having not lost to them in the 6 or 7 games we played. Though it wont be an easy task I am confident that if the boys play to the best of their ability, with a couple of them having a point to prove to them this season it should make for an interesting encounter and perhaps an early title challenging game.
