Shepton United U16’s 13 Milton Nomads 1
Milton Nomads battled bravely against a strong Shepton United side who totally dominated the game.
Two goals in the first half for Shepton gave no indication of the onslaught that was to unfold in the second half.
Shepton were relentless in the second half and added 11 more goals while Milton replied only the once. All credit to Milton Nomads who scored the best goal of the game when Shepton keeper, Ashley Thick, was beaten from 25 yards out from goal. Shepton's new signings and forwards, Josh Hiscox and Anthony Thomas, both scored a hat trick each on their debuts. Other scorers were Curtis Stevens, with two, and contributions from Charlie Giles, Emerson Bidwell (Captain), Jack Bailey, Lee Marshman and Brett Cottrell. The score would have been more as Shepton hit the woodwork four times and Niall Taylor blasted the ball over the top with a penalty in the second half.
Final score.... Shepton United U16 13 Milton Nomads U16 1
Man of the match.....Curtis Stevens Chairman/Webmaster’s Comments:
13 goals on the first game of the season?? Am I dreaming or what?
Would have been more if we didn’t hit the woodwork and Niall hadn’t put the ball into space with his penalty!! Did he have a shovel on his foot? Reckon the keeper sent him the wrong way!!
We should compliment Milton Nomads for battling all the way but, lets be honest, they were bloody useless…weren’t they!!! J
