Match Summary (warning, this is some ramble!)

It was a decent showing by the RSF team in the 1st half. The bromance of the diamond defense kept Larry stiff all game, and kept his interest as he was cheering the entire 2nd half for the ‘insurance’ goal. What a fan! And for the players…Los Mustangs put out a decent effort. They pinched a lucky one through Little Gerry Seinfeld’s (the cock fighting rooster for the Seinfeld fans) legs past Mike for an early quick score. Carlos cinched up his shorts an extra inch, and punished them back with a scrapper goal (although much needed) to tie thing back up 1-1 off an over the top lollypop by #2. Word on the street is that Carlos put in a pass to Alan for Goal #2, but I didn’t see it, nor did I hear much cheering. I don’t know. Maybe I was asking suri on my iphone “how the F do we fix the grass”, or maybe I was looking for a ball in the Rancho’s ‘Black Forest’. At that point I think it was 2-2, until Jorge faked all the fans out and seemed like was actually going to be in the 18 yard box and shoot the ball towards the goal, but he didn’t, and some dude hacked him down, awarding a PK which #2 slotted in nicely to go up 3-2 at half. The 2nd half was pretty gross. Scoring wise, you handled yourselves like bon vivant’s, with a goal by Tom (big man put ‘just a lovely header into the upper v. now seriously boyz, could anyone have done better than that’- Tom after his goal J - Since Tom forgot to thank and acknowledge Matt ‘The Champ’, I will now….or Did Tom go the belly up and buy a round for everyone…I just don’t know). Final goal came from Carlos, and another thank you for the assist goes out to Jorge! All said, it was 5-3.

Let’s take a second to look at the 2nd half effort. What a farce. Look, Larry already told me I suck, and he only keeps me around because I do his paperwork… but my eyes are perfectly healthy. That 2nd half effort was no bueno. If this RSF Attack team only cared about Huff-N-Puff, so be it, but the magic of this team is that we are supposed to be training and playing well, so when we go to Tourney’s we play good! Let’s remember that. No need for Larry’s winning speech here, but we all want to hear more of them in the future, so let’s tighten thing up. My old soccer coach used to tell me (all the time) when I was playing bad…’if you’re not having a good day, then take the ball away from the other team, and give it to someone on our team who is having a good day! It’s simple son!’ Decent advice. On Sunday, there seemed to be a lot of gentle lovely ‘passes’ to the other team, which doesn’t follow this advice. Ok enough. If anyone else had advice or a post-game speech for last Sunday’s 2nd half…feel free to insert here.

Goals:

01- Carlos (Assist: Ryan #2)

02 – Allen (Assist: Carlos)

03 – PK Ryan #2 (Assist: Jorge)

04 – Tom (Assist: Matt)

05 – Carlos (Assist: Jorge)

MOM: I’m giving it to Jorge. The reason I am giving it to him, is that he ‘earned’ the PK for us on the 3rd goal to put us ahead. However, I may consider giving Jorge the Man of the Match every week until he starts scoring goals for us (I have a feeling he doesn’t love the attention) – as we all know he has the opportunities to crack the ball into the V…it’s just time he decides to do it more frequently. Attention Jorge: Sunday’s are practice for you…to practice scoring. At some point we are going to actually need you to score, so go ahead and get some practice in! [Some wacky reverse unreverse psychology for you. Hope it works. Translation….score more goals J We all know you can if you want to!]
