The first fixture of the season is always an important one and it was OneCom City that came away with the 3 points last night.
A quick start by City put them 3-0 up and comfortably in control of the game, goals from Huntington via the penalty spot, Jake Stevens with an effort from distance and a superb solo effort from new signing Aaron Brown completed the early start.
Some tactical nouse by Pete Smith, the OneCom United Captain, moved Mid-Fielders Dave Cox and Ben Jenkins further forward which proved decisive as very quickly control of the game had been clawed back to a 3 - 3 scoreline via goals from Dave Cox (1), Sam Waltham (1) with a goal mouth scramble finish and a good close range finish from veteran Stu Jeffries (1).
Both defenses, along with some superb saves from both Goalkeepers, Oli Bowles (City) and Loan Signing Ben French (United) kept the scoreline's even for a while before a quick break away provided Huntington with a chance to push City ahead, he gladly obliged.
The OneCom City defense of Jack Lish and Darren Searle managed to stay solid during late waves of attacks from United's front 3 and finally a long range effort for Huntington, to complete his hat-trick, proved the be the winner and claim the 3 points for City.
